I can't attend the season opener because we are car testing in Switzerland. See you for race 2!

Don't we usually have the inside line to turn 1 for the pole? Then it should be odds to the right?

We are trying to give always the best line through turn 1. And that is definitely the outside here.

Agree! (as long as the 2nd place car does not stick his nose where he shouldn't =P)

@Nighttiger nice battle we had :) thanks

@MelBonkers :eek::eek: you were faster than me and finished in P4 ... awesome mate

Jan, I can't believe it either! Would've been on the podium if it wasn't for that spin after my pitstop. Still very happy with my result!

Well have to start with the important issue first, apologies to Sharky again for the incident again in the last few laps, we were side by side Sharky was on the inside as we came towards the last 2 corners, was going to let him have it, but just thought I'd look right just to double check where he was, but totally forgot about the lame arse slow motion look left & right camera, so because it so slow I lost my bearings slightly and the rear wheel caught the grass which sent me spinning to right where he was so sorry again dude we were having some fun. As for the rest started badly taking a turn to tight causing me to lose grip, so went to the back letting the field go past, managed to get back up to 5th, until my pitcrew went on strike 3 times and failed to change my tyres, worked it out with Cluck what we think was wrong, anyways fun to be back and be racing again with some of the old crew, and it looks like we've gained some good new ones, hopefully my neck wont fail me again for awhile and I can enjoy some good racing again.

By the way Manu I was chuckling away to myself when you said you were going to use the hard tyres, and then someone spoilt it..:banghead:

Puh, what a season opener! First of all many thanks to @Diluvian for sharing his setup to me last minute because I had literally no time to practice :/

Qualified P2 which was really surprising but all congratz goes to @stolnikas for his brilliant pole position! The start was good and I could position myself directly behind @stolnikas. I had some troubles with turn 1 and @Diluvian took his chance and overtook me.

Next thing was probably the worst which could happen... Second last turn I went wide and completely lost it in the last turn. Unfortunately, I @Vernux and @Hujkis couldn't avoid me and crashed into me. That was 100% my fault, I am really sorry guys :(

Early pitstop, fixed my damage and tried to push as best I could. After most people pitted I found myself into P6 behind @jamesl91 and in front of @MelBonkers. Lost it once again in turn 4 which @MelBonkers used to overtake me. From there it was a heated battle forwards and backward. In the end, I could not make the move stick and finished P5 behind @MelBonkers.

That was brilliant racing @MelBonkers! And stop apologizing, it was such a nice battle in the end on my 35 minutes old soft tires :D

Here is my pov:

What an interesting first race. Was really surprised how ell we all made it through T1 4 wide  Unfortunatly had some moments with @Zsolt Benczedi (@2:00, questionalbe move there, I lost it while you where pulling to the right and than suddenly rejoing the racingline) and @Laiders (@7:00, really sorry for this one, didnt expect to to brake this hard there). This caused me to pit early (wrong pitcrew :D). Was able to gain another to places and a nice team reunion just before the end of the race. Very unfortunate for my teammate who caught some aero damage few laps before the end of the race. But points are a second thought when you had an enjoyable race, which I definatly had :)

Video should be up in a few minutes.

No probs mate, it happens. It was a good battle but I had no idea what happened, one second I was fine and the next on my roof.

Race was down, up and then very down for me. Lost my best lap in qualifying by spinning on the final corner, then didn't have enough time for another go. Started 17th and got taken out on lap 2 (I think) by two cars double teaming me down the straight after turn 1 (I was in the middle as the car on the right gave me the squeeze with nowhere to go due to the car on the other side). I had damage at that point so decided to make my stop early. When I came out I was right in front of the leaders so had to let a couple of cars through, but then I found I could pretty much keep up with them. I managed to claw my way from around last up to just outside the top 10 when I caught Gopher. Managed to get past him but couldn't pull away as I'd pitted early so my tyres were a bit second hand at this point; then the big crash happened with a couple of minutes remaining. Had to pit again and ended up finishing last out of the runners.

Turn 1 from the race. I am truly impressed that everyone made it harm free through turn 1 :)

Great racing, really enjoying this car. Seems great to drive and good for close racing to me. I don't think I really got the GP circuit nailed, quite a tricky track to start on, was still doing green laps with a damaged car in the last laps on the race. I think the Pcars2 physics make the lonely portion of the race so much more enjoyable, it's just fun to drive the car and try and find the next tenth now!

No worries @TheDoctor46, it's easy to be caught out by the car ahead braking there and not a lot you can do as it's a downhill braking area, I misjudged it and did exactly the same to @Gxbbs later in the race, sorry about that!

Had a quick blast in the Cayman at Donington National after the race tonight, perfect track for it, can't wait for that round. Knicked @Cluck Knockhill time trial set, much better with the car softer, not sure if it really looses much laptime, but good for learning the car and track.

Ok, that was not that kind of ending I wished for my first league race but just to sum it up:

- My practice session had wrong track conditions and I set up the car wrong (sorry @TheDoctor46, @t0daY, @Topsie that I gave you a shit setup) and the car was very hard to control at the race because the tire temps were to low and the setup didn't work at all. Maybe it's noticeable at the Livestream.
- I've tried hard to keep up the pace with the ones in front of me and decided to pit early because I wanted to get rid of the softs again (they didn't suite my driving style) but the hards haven't been any better at the beginning but were more consistent during cornering.
- I've decided to push as hard as I can to get onto P1 and at some point I adapted my driving style and got a pretty good pace with my cold hard tires (my best was 1:37:0xx)
- It seems I wasn't able to do so much at-the-limit laps needed and I had the slightest moment were I lost my concentration and immediately spun. The most dumb was after that because I drove into the barriers because I wanted to reach the track as fast as possible and f***ed up :).
- So I damaged my front aero to 22 and this caused my engine to take damage in shortest time. I had to pit shortly before the race ended with 92% of engine damage and repaired my front aero to be able to finish the race.

That was the last time I'm setting up my car for wrong conditions :D

And finally I raced against very fair drivers, congratz to everyone there!

I've gone wide sometimes and went off throttle to compensate that, if you still think I've cut too much pls contact me :)

And congratz to TheDoctor46 for P9! Very well done :) (especially with that bad setup)
