I'll be pulling out of this event sorry. The thought of sleeping at 6AM is much nicer than racing for me at the moment. :p

For those that haven't done any testing yet:

Be aware that both tyre and fuel consumption is on the high side. For the 20-minute race you'll want to run 65L of fuel, just in case you get caught having to do one more lap than you might be expecting (It uses ~5L of fuel per lap around Spa)

The red-walled 'Alternate' tyre will last the 20-minute race without a problem, providing you don't lock up regularly - lock up and you will lose a lot of tyre in an instant. I wouldn't even consider using the black-walled 'Primary' tyre unless you like drifting ;)

Wow, you must be smooooth as silk on those tyres @Cluck I was wondering if they would last the time trial lap before i'd finished the outlap :O

Well, I'm actually running some wing so I'm not putting the car sideways every two seconds :p

the game bugs just get exacerbated on open wheel racing...

my first race went just fine (for me), second race yeah...visual dmg lol = full dmg :D.
I also rammed someone at the end of the camel straight at the 2nd or 3rd lap when i am pretty sure i did not touch him in my screen.

I've had a random disconnect on formation lap at race 2. All the hours of preparation down the drain. At least the first race was fun.
I guess you have to be ready to take a joke if you play PC2. :)

Really Enjoyed tonight, The Indy Cars felt great at Spa.
A real shame about the buggy damage some suffered in Race One and then the trick damage in the 2nd race. A big sorry to @Feanor who I touched going into Eau Rouge, I saw a gap opening but it shut and I lifted then just as I got back on the throttle I think you lifted and I didn't have the time to avoid :(. Had I known damage was on I never would have been so close.

Don't really have words for what happened tonight, all these random issues, damage, disconnects. Such unreliable service for DS or any type of online race is really unacceptable. I feel bad for everyone who prepared for this.

At least Pcars 1 was predictable.

ADD: shame really, I was really enjoying setting up the car and looking forward to race at Spa.

Spent sommuch time for preperation...somehow it was worth it - since I made it 2 times to podium (considering this was possible due to some no shows, disconnects and retirements), but due to all the issues it's not ranked...:(

Anyway it was good racing, thank you all

There will be a more formal message from the admins but I just want to put up a preliminary apology to everybody affected by the problems tonight. Since release, we have had minor glitches here and there but nothing like the problems we saw tonight, these were unprecedented.

Believe me, I am as frustrated as everybody else, having picked up >60 front wing damage on Race 1's parade lap, I was then caught up in the turn 1 carnage in race 2 and quickly learned that damage was actually effective. As such, my race was done by turn 1.

I do want to apologise to (I think) Nada, who had a 50/50 option for trying to avoid me as I tried to get off the track and facing the right way. He picked the wrong 50%. Really sorry about that, I was only trying to do the right thing of course!

No worries. For me it was just a small bump. You lost your front wing. So you came out worse.
Sorry to have caught you by surprise. I didn't want to go side by side through Eau Rouge that early in the race and Thomas had the better line so I backed out.

After the Indy 600 race on Sunday, the Staff Team here at RSR would like to apologise to everyone that was involved in the evenings' events. From the problems with damage during the formation lap and all of the unusual issues throughout the night, we cannot include the races as 'ranked' races (Click here for our race stats).

We will continue to perform some testing, especially with respect to the lobby 'damage' settings and will continue to report these issues back to SMS.

Once again our apologies to everybody involved and thanks for your continuous support and feedback, as well as your patience last night.

Thanks guys. But I don't feel like it's your fault. The game messed it up. Be it issues with dedicated servers, extreme damage impact on performance to the degree of being pointless to use in a game, not working rolling start, bad track limit penalty system and bugs in the damage definition. We can't expect RSR to test every combo to perfection if the game keeps throwing random bugs, issues or simply bad game design at us.
On a general note, I'm shocked in which state the game is several months after release. There are bugs in the relative time and split times in the hud that may but shouldn't be in the release version, but being still there several months after release just comes across as lazy or as if the developer dosn't care about the game. SMS can claim they want the game to go esports but it would be more helpful if they'd fix bugs, issues and reverse some bad design choices.
