@Cluck I was hoping for another "oops, that's the wrong button" moment so I had a chance for another P3. :)

Hi, Reigning king of the mountain here. Looking forward to this, but I'm pretty sure I'll have to build a new setup as the last one is gone.... :(

Meh, default setup is good for low 2m03 laps anyway :p

EDIT : Actually, that's not strictly true, I did adjust the brake balance and front/rear ARB settings from in-car, but only by a few clicks for each. If I get a clear track, I'm aiming for a 2m02 quali lap this time around, maybe even a 2m01.

My first RSR race, was too afraid of making a pit stop in pCars so drove on one set of tyres last time, don't think that was the fastest strategy!

Worked OK for Ramiboo, as I recall :). Not for me though, I burn through tyres like they're going out of fashion :D. Well, OK, I never actually found out as I binned it fumbling for the pit button, so I never actually made it to the pits :D.

Yeah as @Cluck said, I had the same issues and had to pit for fresh tires. If I remember correctly @ramiboo slowed down his pace in order to keep his tires more alive. In the end I could not catch him anymore :(

Revenge time! :D

Revenge is a dish best served sideways ...

... into a wall, at 170mph whilst muttering something about "wrong button"

Both ramiboo and I (P1 & P3 respectively) used only one set of tires, ramiboo on the softs, myself on the medium/hards I believe. Manu managed to hunt me down for P2 but it was definitely a viable strategy.

I'll be going for the same strategy I think. As long as I can get the setup where I need it. Gotta be smooth as butter to get those softs lasting.... :D

No signup for this one @Mr AlcoN, most races are just a matter of showing up on teamspeak at the right time. This was a lot of fun last time around.

If you need to pit, make sure you press the 'request pit stop' button and not the 'pause' button, then panic trying to stop the mouse and 'Rift gaze' from fighting with each other so that you can get out of the pause menu. All whilst doing 170+mph and just about to hit your brakes. Finally, in the heat of your ineptitude and fumbling, you gaze too long at 'Retire to Pits'. Because that would be a REALLY stupid thing to do, so it's a good job that nobody here did that at the last race. Oh no, nobody here would be THAT stupid o_O

*whistles innocently*

How? I'm struggling to do 2:07...... :/

My right front tire is half gone after just 5 laps???

To be fair, I'm not going to be doing a 2m01 or even a 2m02. I am quite comfortable with the default setup to be honest BUT the conditions are quite different to those in time trial and when the race was last run. I'm still expecting to run a 2m03 quali lap though.

I set up a MP lobby, with the correct conditions for the race, and went straight to the race. First flying lap was sub. 2m06, next was nearly a second off that. I then got caught up in the AI, which I'd stupidly added and at some ridiculously low ability (yes, I was lapping them on the 4th lap, that's how slow they were!) so I closed the session and did something else.

Tyres, if you push them, will melt in no time. You'll either need a careful setup, that will manage the tyres, or you just go for it. I'm aiming to do the "go for it" route and try and get away with a quick stop just for tyres. If I can pull out 3s a lap, for 12 laps, over Ramiboo (for example) that should be enough to dart in, get tyres, and get out again ahead of him. Whether that's going to be possible, I don't know. I'm planning on doing a bit of practice on this one, really to see how I can extend the life of the tyres and still nail quick laps.
