Out of interest, why not just set the lobby to forced default?
I don't have a problem here, as I trust you lot a lot more than I trust 'others'...
But not 100% sure why you wouldn't just force it?

because there were often confusions which is the forced setup, and as most people prefer stable you are allowed to choose the default setup

Forced default will force you to use the 'Loose' setup, which some drivers struggle with (it can be a handful for some people). By leaving the lobby open and using a "gentleman's agreement", our members are able to select the more stable default setup. We work on the basis that our members will not abuse the trust - and if our members want to keep racing here, they would be wise not to abuse it :)

Ah, I thought it still gave you the option to choose Stable or Loose.
Fair enough.
Again, I have no issues using gentleman's agreements in RSR!

You kinda can 'choose' between Stable and Loose with Forced Default Setups, but to do that you need to open up a TT with that car and load either Loose or Stable. This will be saved for your next sessions in that car.

Not sure if this is actually a feature or a bug, but I'd also prefer to choose between Default Setups in the actual lobby. And the hosts usually allow us to change the Steering Ratio, which is very helpful and should be included into the game imo.

That's why I thought it was decided to run 'not forced', as some would most likely not be aware of that.

And before the last patch people would get different fuel loads.

Another slight issue with Forced defaults, is you can't touch the pit strategy. And lord knows what your pit crew will decide to do to your car without a strategy in place....
Again, I think it's the same route as the setups - Which ever you have selected in a previous session before joining a forced default lobby, that's the pit strat you will run.

With the TT "feature", I believe you can use a custom setup, and when you join a Forced Default Lobby, you will still run with your saved TT setup. Cause that's fair :)

I think there were ppl abusing this in some ESL events, but I'm not 100% sure of that...

I've raced in ESL and trust me I've tried everything to load custom setups into forced default lobbies, because I had the same feeling as you :D

Didn't work though, it always resets to one of the default ones. But finding out you can actually choose between those two was a big improvement haha

My apologies. In an effort not to offend my heavily pregnant wife i am going to have to withdraw from this one. Would have been my first proper RSR event too :(

I see that all spots are already taken...but if one does not attend I'd love to jump in as a substitution.

You might get your chance Jaco, as unfortunately i have to withdraw.
Due to a stomach flue and subsequent frequent toilet visits i can't attend.
