Alright, let's count me in for this :) I got the DP and Daytona. I was going to do IMSA this season anyway, so that fits perfectly to provide practice before mid-jan.
So DP for me, crazy as that might be.

I have so many things to learn/questions around setups, team racing, what keys I should be binding. I've never even done a pitstop so far in iRacing :D. I'll be honest I'm terrified about what the quality of my driving might be in the night time stints. Is it likely to be a 3 or 4+ man team? I'm looking for some kind mentors :)
Dude, don't panic! The guys here will walk you through everything :). Honestly, I was in much the same boat except that I'd not even touched iRacing beforehand. Just remember one thing - it's a team race, so whatever happens, it happens as a team :)

Keep that in mind when I spin in the first stint... Again.

Don't worry Paul - I've done 3 Mazda races, I will guide you through everything in iRacing xD

And don't forget: We have Manu in our team - so whatever happens, we can blame it on him :p

Dammit - I'll have to extend my sub and get another car. I'll do it but don't tell my wife

Awesome dude, do you want to join the rookie team?
I think I have a spot on Ben's team, which is probably the rookie team to be fair, but I'm a bit out of the loop.

I assume by the way that at some point there will be a lovely RSR branded DP car to climb into? :D

I have the Porshce RSR so would like to drive that as personal preference. And same here want to start practicing.
I took the RSR out for a spin, seems a good choice

Anyone done setup work on the DP yet? I'm conscious that I appear to suck at this track. I can't work out its lines at all and the default setups all seem pretty awful. Every other track I've been happily shaving time off lap by lap, but the best I can do with even remotely full tank is a 1:42.5 with 45L of fuel.

I'm guessing that the setup should be low DF and drive train for top speed, due to the long straights and camber balanced for the extreme bias towards fast left turns, but everything I tweak just seems to make it worse.

I could really do with some sort of reference lap and time with full fuel (I assume that there is no fuel limit for cars in a 24hr race) so I can understand the gap I need to close.

Top split dp quali times last year were high 35's and gte's will do 1:40's, these are in night time conditions so id just aim to below 1:40 at first
