I do apologise for this, this is all my fault. I had around 10fps in game at time, I have no idea why - I've never had this before and didn't experience it all in the second race. I didn't slow down and wait as I thought you were beside me until the corner at the end of the straight. I'm more than happy if you wanted to take it further :)

10fps. I bet that was nauseating :yuck:. I knew I was marginally faster than you so I was on the fence whether to make an attempt or just keep it calm and hold my position...I made the wrong choice. No don't worry about, it's 'racing'...and it's only a bit of fun, might be different if there was cold hard cash involved. :p:greedy:

That was a good evening for me. Qualified pretty good for change, 11th and 8th, did great laps bot times.

First race was ok, i was driving in top 10, but after 15 minutes when the tyres started to give up, I made a couple of mistakes, which cost me a few places, finished 14th.

Second race was even better, was in top 6, but then tangled with hangman twice, which both cost us 2 places each, so i finished 9th. Very pleased with the result. Again in the second half of the race the car was all over the place, really struggled and i was on the verge of dying all the time.

Qualifying for the first race was fantastic. A little slower than my best but up there as a clean lap.
The race was a bit of a crap shoot. I felt lucky to get through T1 but was completely off line for T4 which then screwed me up massively for the following sequence of corners. Managed to get a run up the inside of someone to the hairpin & got spun around on the apex. Unfortunately this left me stranded in the middle of the track facing the wrong direction & having to wait for the field to pass. I did take damage but felt it wasn't bad enough to lose time in the pits.. 3 laps in & my rears tyres were dead. Pit for repairs & don't get any tyres. Bugger it, a slow trundle round & around till the finish.
Q2 could have been better but a stupid spin on the last corner cost me dearly, for both my runs.
The second race start was a total wipe out of cars throughout the first sector. Thought I would be able to bring home some decent points... Nope. Dumb nuts here loaded the same setup as the first race. Tyres cooked quicker than gollum in the fires of mount doom. A race to forget.
Onwards noble Ligier steed!

Much better races for me tonight, and I enjoyed them a lot.

Q1 - I qualified 5th lining behind my team mate, actually managed to get into the 1:56's which I hadn't managed in any practice session, so pretty chuffed with myself.
R1 - Had a great race for 4th with determinedhangman for the whole of the first half of the race, and to be honest I should have managed to stay ahead, but I folded under the pressure and had a little half spin which put me down to 6th...fought my way back up and as a result of other people's problem including my team mate I gained a couple of places late on to secure 4th. I'm really chuffed with that after the Road America debacle.

Q2 - Where did my pace go? Couldn't get any tyre heat and after a 1:56 in Q1 I was 2 seconds slower, no idea why. Maybe I'd just got settled into race pace. Qualifed 13th in the danger zone!
R2 - Despite the instructions to be sensible at turn1 some brainiac decided to go 3/4 wide up the inside of turn1, luckily I managed to avoid most of the fallout. By turn 2 another shambolic mess ahead of me gifted me a few places and I got up to 11/12 and having a good old battle with @MarkyPea , andrew lewis and @Nada until lap7 when @MarkyPea got wiped out at the end of the long back straight, gifting me another place. P9 chasing down RedFox until lap11 when Spitfire had a little moment at turn1 and although I braked I bumped fairly gently into the side of his car and got some aero damage (15). Not enough to pit, but left me a sitting duck on the back straight unable to get into 6th gear and I'm up into 8th. Project PD pitted at the end of the lap, so I gained another spot. Immediately at turn1 Jomba got tapped by determined hangman, who very fairly waited for him to recover which gifted me another 2 places, and I'm suddenly running in 5th with no straightline speed lol. Started catching redfox again but under increasing pressure from Jesper80 who just drove past me on the back straight. I managed to stay in touch but not catching them until lap15 when they both stumbled over a back marker in sector1 jesper spinning out and I'm back chasing redfox again in P5. Now ProjectPD had been some 12 seconds back and in P13 but now after only 3 laps, he was just 5 seconds behind and in 8th hunting us down, I also had my race 1 nemesis determinedhangman breathing down my neck, on lap17 redfox had a moment exiting the hairpin onto the back straight, ProjectPD was all over me like a rash, and we were 3 wide down the back straight, but as a result of my aero deficit I back in 6th as we turned left into the final sector, redfox and projectpd traded paint and redfox stayed out wide to leave pd room so I followed him through on the inside, with just a few corners left I'm looking good for 5th, but as we took the double left before the long right redfox just tagged my rear and spun me round relegating me to 8th as Jesper80, redfox, and the ever present determinedhangman passsed me as I recovered...gutted!

Overall a lot better than road america which was a complete mess with a P19 and a DNS (PCARSSSSSSed) but I'm a bit gutted about the end of race 2.

Great racing chaps, really enjoyed it tonight! See you all in a couple of weeks (or in the stewards room :0 )

Mine aren't as good as yours, but I hope I can tell a decent story.
Once upon a time, there was a field of 28 drivers with LMP3s racing at COTA in Project CARS 2.

Lap 1, P4-P6 entered Turn 1 3 wide, no risk no fun

On the exit of Turn 1, they upped it to 4 wide.

@Blue Monkey Your post makes me want to have Inductions back! And Orange Zone like in other leagues.... I mean , shit can happen, it's racing, but this is just shameful. That's not what RSR stands for...

The far as I know those incidents were caused by long time members. No idea what Induction could have done here to be honest.

It's cool, it's a shame, race 1 my frame rate was so low I was pretty cautious throughout. As we had to leave the server for the second race I dropped car and track detail down to low to help a bit, so was able to drive the car harder in the race. Stranded there upside down I didn't have the reset button mapped as I never use it, so I had no idea what keyboard button it was, and you cannot access options in the race for some reason so I couldn't look it up. So I ran downstairs and was Googling it on my work laptop. I couldn't find it so came back to the game to retire, and there I was the right way up, but with missing bodywork. I figured that I'd been hit by someone going off track, however it turns out Blue Monkey saw me stranded and flipped me over (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-dgMjy1OLsE )!! Very nice, what a gent. @Blue Monkey then had to retire after an AI taking control incident, someone else also retired, so I moved up from 26th to 24th. Both races now I've had a tentative race 1, and then race 2 have been wiped out from a decent position by an unsighted driver. Maybe one race I can get through them both.

The incident

Just in case my 'agree' is misinterpreted, the Agree was for the last 6 words.

Mixed feelings about last night.

Q1: Managed to qualify P3 after some great laps from @ProjectPD and @Taorminator - I only managed a 1.56.0 what I was disappointed with given the 1.55.6/7 in the practice sessions.

Race 1: Starting in P3 I hoped to get the jump on @Taorminator into the first corner and I managed to get a great start and get ahead. My team mate @Born2BSlow managed to get in between me and @Taorminator helping me build a nice gap in a comfortable 3rd place. Around lap 10 of the race my fps started dropping more and more with each lap to the point where the last 2/3 laps I was averaging about 10 frames per second. I somehow perservered and managed to finish 5th? (maybe) I felt so sick with the nausating feeling that I was happy to stop the car as soon as I crossed the line. Still some good team points scored.

Q2: Did another 1.56.0 - but a big lap from @ProjectPD in the 1.54's (knew it!!) put us all in the dust. Qualified P3 - happy with the result with only the 2 aliens ahead.

Race 2: Another good start gave me a good run into the first corner but as @Puffpirat and @ProjectPD also had good starts I was happy to maintain my position. I was unaware @Blue Monkey had made a move around @Taorminator into turn 1 so taking my racing line through turn 1 lead to slight contact with @Blue Monkey , when giving more space, I was completely unaware @Elodyr and @Taorminator were battling to the left of us which lead to the envitable of an incident. Remarkably I had 0 damage and racing in the cockpit view, I didn't see @Blue Monkey @Elodyr or @Taorminator at any point until they were flying in front of me at all angles. Managed to keep up a solid pace and finish 2nd after @ProjectPD had an incident near the end of the race.

Overall, would have been great to get a 3rd and a 2nd place finish in the races and it was only for PC/game issues in the first race that this didn't happen. So mixed feelings but from a personal performance I'm happy with how it went.

Big congratulations to @Puffpirat and @ProjectPD - unbelievably fast and consistent!! and well done to my team mate @Born2BSlow for a strong performance in both races

Well I've watched the replay...hoping to see the Stewards decisions on those incidents...Elodyr was very unfortunate x2.

Thanks @CatchAGlimpse couldn't have done it without your setup work. Really don't know what happened to my pace in q2 and race 2 though, very puzzling.

they tell a sad story, having been onboard with you at the time, it was scary but more a shame the 2nd race started the way it did, race 1 was fine bar a few small incidents.
