So.... just curious ... Who has a order on DD1 or DD2 ? And is there already someone maybe who already recieved it ?
Mine should be deliverd after this weekend. FINALLY ! I mean....still rocking the G27 its a beast if you think how old it is hahah value for money is huuuuugggeee .
Already waiting for Direct drive for about 1.5 year at least. I could have order a Accuforce or Simucube but those options are even more expensive then a Fanatec DD with wheel especcially after revieving a discount for pre-order and waiting.

So to make my waiting in weekend more bareable i just watching some vids on YT how people are setting it up

Man i went to the store for a new mouse mat.... came home with a Denon reciever and no mouse mat

Anyway @Puffpirat i am hyped after waiting for so long ! Maybe we can exchange some setup / settings coming week for a good FFB feel and stuff

Wanted to upgrade my G29 for a long time, then Fanatec invited me to their community event... Well soon after they had another new customer

UPS tried to deliver it to me today but I didn't think it would come in the morning so I wasn't home I guess I'll also get it tomorrow now, hopefully that's still soon enough to get used to it until the Nordschleife 24h this weekend; it just has to

Would be cool, if you could share some insight when you got your new toys and have everything dialed in. I have at least 1 and a half eye on a DD1 aswell, but need to upgrade other things first.

P.S. Was nice racing you @Jeff[NL] and @Puffpirat . would appreciate it if you could at least wait for me after finish line for a after race beer

Got my DD1 yesterday but it did not recognize rims, pedals, shifter or handbrake.

After checking cables / proper fit onto the rubber bit etc.. and lots of searching online - I gave up and raised a ticket with Fanatec.

This morning switched it on and rims are now recognized.

I do get some weirdness in various games but its still early days...

Weird stuff being
ACC
Assigning throttle/brake and then they are turned around in game and inverted - I dont see anywhere to change reverse the inversion in game so I get throttle when I press it not when I release it ... etc..

Also it offers no button assignments so you need to do yourself but it does not allow me to assign the funky switch or mouse button currently.

PC2 - rim shifters not working despite being able to be assigned. shifter works fine.

The settings Fanatec recommend really are a basic starting point..
iRacing is ready to rip your arms off - very very strong - way too strong tbh (only tried the IR18)
ACC - not really dirven because of the pedal issues but what I did feel seemed a really decent starting point - feeling so far this may really be nice on DD1..
PC2 - I get more feel on 2 tracks I tested I did not like with the CSW2.5 (ie Road America / Spa) but the default settings they recommend are way to weak imo. Im setting the base DD to 70 and still feel I could go higher depending on the car. The load up during cornering in the 488gte felt more natural going up eau rouge.

So there you have it some initial thoughts - still way too early to tell and I really need to work now but I do hope to resolve my issues and get things dialed in more - its too early to really give an informed assessment but going through high DF corners in high DF cars now is really quite satisfying with being able to have extra oomph

Oh also - in case anyone is worried about more flimsy rigs not being strong enough Im on a F1GT and i did not get any sensation of stuff moving around although I did swap around the wheel base plate and supporting columns for the FGT ones which are more robust.

Mounting was easy, but I had some troubles getting it to work properly after the firmware update. Before the update everything was as usual, but I couldn't see the base anymore in the Fanatec Wheel Property Page after the update. If someone has the same problem, then take a look on the display of the wheelbase. If it says XBox, then turn off the base, take the wheel off and turn the base on again. You can see now PC instead of XBox in the display. Just mount the wheel again and everything should be fine again.
At first I used the Fanatec settings that @Puffpirat shared with us on Discord and they are a good base to start with. I turned off the linear mode, because I like to feel the beats from the road,
I can feel the input from the road now a bit faster, compared to my old V2 and I have the feeling that it helps to feel faster if the car is going sideways.
