Comments about my race : I think it is my less deserved 4th place in RSR history !

Came completly unready to the FP 30 mins before driver briefing, without setup (i took 2h to try making one the day before and it pissed me off so much i deleted everything).
I did a somehow "decent setup" for race in these 30mins. Just before quali, i changed it to make it faster (or what i thought should make it faster) and... it did. I spent 2hours the day before testing the car at each change, this time i changed like 10 things at a time and the car was MUCH better. Either i suddenly became a genius, or i was expecting too much the day before (reaching low 29" was in the end a nice time...). Lesson learnt, don't be fooled by times people announce on the forum xD.

So i actually did only one fast lap (the lap after the outlap). I decided to use rest of qualis to test the setup with race tyres pressures (around 28.5/29 psi hot) and full fuel in the remaining 10 minutes as i was already satisfied from this lap. In the end it brought me to 8th place.
I was at one point doing better than my fastest lap but @Havocc ruined it by rejoining in front of my nose in the last chicane and hitting me (I was doing better by 0.4s  with full fuel).

Start of the formation lap was scary again as the aston in front stalled, and guys on the left lane were passing on the left . Just a remark, you should be moving after the car on your front SIDE and not direct in front of you ! Because positions are not actualised in real time in formation lap i had to switch to external camera and count cars in front to see if i was still 8 or not. Turns out i wasn't and took my position back without problem.

So i did go for this setup. It turns out it was quite nice. Start was average, having the outside line in turn 1 i've been rammed by a lexus and lost two positions in the process. Rest of race start was awesome as it seemed to me people were much more careful that at monza. I got on or two positions back by the next straight. Then a few accidents in front allowed me to catch 4th place. It stayed like that during a while, with the gap to @Exited staying around the 3/4s and the gap behind to @The Wayfaerer around 5/6s. At one moment i decided to stop attacking and play it safe as i was unable to decrease the time to @Exited in front.

Sadly, looked a bit like Monza nightmare replay to me, but only my fault this time, as the car suddenly decided to go kiss the pit wall on the right of the last turn. I still don't understand what happened, as i was not on the grass at all (was playing it safely) and it was very violent. Got "serious damage" at the front, with 25mins remaining to the clock. It turned out the car was drivable, but slower, and I was losing 1.5/2s a lap to my best time and around 0.5s/1s to @Vernux who was now 5secs behind me. Worse part is that my front lights were now transformed in disco lights at each heavy braking (and oh my god having a christmas tree in place of front lights as you approach hairpins and chicanes is disturbing o_O ).

15mins before finish, @Vernux was now right behind my ass. I was defending as much as i could with un understeery car and it lasted till the 2mins mark.
Sadly i lost the position. By that time i was 6th.

Turns out i crossed to line in 4th, as @Vernux did have a puncture in the last lap and someone in front got a problem too.

Experience won, the 30min mark is definitly my weak point, and at one point i lost focus which probably led me to the wall. Tyre pressures were perfect, i really like 28/29 psi as even with a few curb hits (i was avoiding it as much as i could, better safe than sorry) i didn't lost pressure at all.
Second lesson learnt from Monza race is save a pit strategy with the right tyres pressures in your setup !

On a sidenote, really dissapointed that so many people rage quit the game. Even the last place with points wasn't occupied if i'm correct (12 people finished). The game is hard, yes, but if people stay you'll always have someone to fight against and gain positions back. I really hope mentality will change before the 2.4 hours of spa or it's gonna be boring.

You got probably caught by the 'being on rails' bug, where your outside tire gets stuck at the sharp end of the kerb and does not follow your steering inputs anymore. If you are lucky you are just riding the kerb to end and keep going, but it can happen that the contact point climbs back up the kerb again, resulting in harsh camber and contact point variation and the car just snaps to the outside...
Just look at the official forum in the Physics section. There is a 40 page thread about the kerb issue (acutally it is a tire model issue at the end) and Aristotelis already confirmed a tire model update for next patch which is coming next week ;-) the new patch should fix the kerb riding issue :)
