Is it possible to pit without changing tires? I was trying to test that in practice mode and couldn't even see what the pit crew was doing, it just refueled and changed tires, couldn't see any option to just refuel?
Use HMD menu in race you have tickboxes where you can change what you want the pitcrew to do. This is not working in practise mode :( but is working perfectly in race mode :)

sry for leaving the race early, but it seems i have knocked my wrist a bit while trying to catch my first crash, after repairs the car was fine again with me being a lap down, unfortunately over the next few laps my wrist started to hurt more and more resulting in another crash, that was the moment i realized it is probably better to quit to not endanger myself or anybody else
sry guys, the first few laps were actually quite fun

Sorry for leaving early but had to just walk away from this one.

Q: P5 - Great qualifying for me, everything went clean and the fasted lap I have done around Spa.

R: DNF - Two major things happened. Could not understand why on the straights I was loosing so much time then realised I had engine map 8 for the warmup lap. Was in P14 before I realised .
within 20 minutes worked my way back to 9th when I caught a back marker coming out of the pits. I was only 0.2 behind on some of the straights but he proceeded to not let me past for more than 1/2 a lap. eventually 8th had a problem slowed and moved over and as I was overtaking the back marker the back marker decided to overtake 8th place and move out causing me to crash and ending my race as the car was too damaged with 2 hour to go.

Really sad it ended this way for what was a great season for me.

See you all for the F3 Championship :)

I'm an idiot ruined my race at the pit stop , first received a penalty of 30 seconds, and after serving a penalty for speeding disqualified.

I have a game recording of the start (meaning all angles can be reviewed) if anyone are interested. Also, perhaps the guy in Ferrari (Red 'Kessel') No. 7 might be interested in another highlight I have, but did not notice who it was driving No. 7.

For me such long race was a first time but an awesome experience! The two rain showers was nerve wrecking and I gamled with slicks on both occasions. After the second shower and nightfall my tires were ice cold and I did not dare change to wets, knowing how fast they overheat on a drying track. Anyone else dumb enough to go through the entire race on slicks? :p

Qualified P13 (I am no alien) and finished P8. I feel sorry for @steveg200 whom I passed on second last lap - his tires seemed totally worn out and he lost it in a curve.

Had another puncture which was my own fault for trying to complete the whole race on wets. Probably not a good idea .

Don't know why, but those kind of races always turn out the same. :) You drive 2 hours alone worrying about the beather and conditions, and then after your last stop you somehow find yourself 5 sec behind P2 and 4 sec in front of P4 and those remaining 20 minutes you have hell of a battle :)

I did some practice on the server and it was always...I mean really always wet. And night :) So I prepared that there will surely be rain and wet tyres will be needed. I opted for safe setup with slight modifications, I run dry and wet tyres to see the pressures and somehow sort the strategy.

Qualy went normally, was P4 in the end I believe but I didn't care where I qualify. Start was good, I had run on P3 but took it easy into Eau Rogue and was passed by 3 cars. I settled down and after few laps the light shower was here. Stayed out on slicks without issues but others had some issues and I gained some places. The rain stopped and the track wasn't too wet. Again after few laps, more rain but still light. Again stayed out and find myself P2 after @Exited spun in Pouhon. The rain was still coming down on track and I panicked and set the wet tyres and refuell full tank in strategy. Went into pits and just saw that in 3 minutes it will stop raining:banghead:

So I panicked even more. I just drive throught the looooooooooooooooooooooooooong pit lane loosing places. But it was already like 10 or 11pm, stone cold tyres with very low pressures. SO lap after, I went into pits again and refuell and put new tyres with higher pressures. Was down to 6th or 5th (don't remember) and then I was preety much alone. Most of the front runners pitted around midnight so I gained places and was back to 2nd but @Morvic was in the galaxy far far away. But I knew by having full fuel tank around 10PM will not be enough to finish the race, so praied for some more rain that would need wet tyres so I can change tyres like anyone else nad put more fuel. Sadly it didn't come and with 4 litres of fuel I I had to add another 40 litres without tyre change like 20 minutes before the finish line. So I did dive into pits and came out 5 sec behind @Nada and 7 sec in front of @Exited with @Morvic 3 sec behind me but a lap in front (i had blue flags.) The hunt was on. I closed the gap to @Nada by 1-1,5 sec per lap but the Lexus was fast on exits and straights, I was better on brakes especially at Bus stop and in corners but I couldn't get close enough. @Morvic didn't interrupt with our battle and even let @Exited to have a go on me. Oh god, Lexux sandwich. I was glued to @Nada 's rear bumper but I just couldn get past. I had some lunges into Bus stop but he defended well enough and that mean @Exited on one ocasion took my place so I lost the fight into Bus stop. But right after La source @Exited run on the outside sausage kerb and that sended him into spin and into the wall sadly but I was right behind him and luckily i avoided. Then it was like 2 laps to go, I tried some lunges and we had contacts with @Nada but fair and I also half-spinned him into the final bus stop so he took the 2nd and me in 3rd.

So apart the start and last 20 minutes it was quite boring and just trying not o make a mistake. I learnt that the tyres are completely fine for the whole race as I believe they can do 4 hours in real life so the best stategy was to set the tyres, and in case of dry weather (which it preety much was) just stop when you have no fuel, refuell to tohe top and go for the finish so only 1 stop needed (if Im not mistaken.) Also the dry tyres can handle wet track preety okish and I also heard some driver had wet tyres all the time

Thanks for the race and for organising @Battenberg it was really nice mini season and I believe this game has so much potential and can provide great racing.

Well done to @Morvic , great preparation and great pace without issues. shame @Jeff[NL] couldn't race and shame we didn't had proper rain:dead:;)

Minor correction, I did not spun into Pouhon, I parked my car at the outside of the track because I needed to p*ss so damn freaking hard and at this point I could not see if it stops raining again, so I didn't wanted pit the laps beforehand :dead::dead::dead::dead:

Apart from that I had quite a good evening. Good qualy even tough I did my best lap with overtaking a Ferrari into Bus stop.
First 15 laps were really good, could build a 10-15secs gap to @Morvic and @Mazy CZ and the occasional rain spiced things up a little bit. Then the restroom thingy happened and I went after 2 or 3 more laps into the pits to get new tires with higher pressures (26-27 psi all around). Turned out that the pressures were still way to low as the track was still a little bit damp and had 10 degrees. So tires were stone cold and had like 23 psi while driving. Spun into the wall really hard in the night as I tried to push really hard to get the lost pee time back. Got overtaken by @Battenberg then and nursed the car to the 68min mark to make sure I get through the rest of the race with that pitstop.
Put even more pressure into the tires and the track was almost completely dry so I was back in the rythm and could push really hard. Banged in mid 2.19 lap after lap and after overtaking @Battenberg I could see in my Delta that @Nada was about 40 secs up the road and still 45mins to go. So I kept my head down and could see after a couple of laps that this could work. Then @Mazy CZ pitted and came back on track 10sec in front of me so even more thrill o_O could close the gap with for 4 laps to go and when @Mazy CZ had a run on @Nada in the bus stop and they came together a little bit I could overtake @Mazy CZ onto the start finish straight.
But drama wasn't enough. Just a few seconds later, I got on the sausage kerb at the exit of La Source and the 'on rails' bug happened to me as my left tires got trapped between the normal and the sausage kerb and then I got spun into the pitwall...
Soooo I came home in P4, which is ok. I will focus on how awesome this game looked yesterday and how awesome the day and night circle was with some spicy rain in between. This game has so much potential, really looking forward to the 5 point tire model and the improvement that come with that!

Learned for my self that I need to set up more pit strategies before the race, because otherwise you end up with configuring it all the time with the D-Pad during the race :)

Really enjoyed that season and hopefully we will find a way the continue somehow with this game.

On a negative note, I have never been in a season were so many people signed up and even for the first race it was difficult to have a full grid. The race yesterday was just the negative highlight, were 27 people should turn up and in the end 15 joined and after 20min we already lost another 3... This community has at least in the AC games a serious issue with commitment, but this does not surprise me as you don't have to face any consequences when you don't join multiple races in one season. The only consequence is that you will go down to the reserves, that's it...

Anyway, a big thank you to @Battenberg @Noztra and @Ricardo Macieira for setting up this mini season in this new game! Really enjoyed that and your effort is really appreciated (at least from my side) :)

Congrats to @Morvic , really impressive drive yesterday and winning this season in the old rusty Aston is a statement by itself! Good job mate!

See you all on tuesday!
Cheers,

Oh, Personal pit stop break :D:D:D

I thought that the 5 point tyre model is already in the game or at least while driving it felt that the "hitting the kerb" with only edge of the tyre will not result in autospin in the Audi so I was preety happy with that. so if it is not yet implemented in the game then looking forward to it :)

Might as well share my race report.

Qualifying was standard, near the back in P12. It wouldn't really matter where I qualified as this is a long race. It was a good clean start from everyone and after a couple of laps I was in the top 10. As the track got wet I decided to stick it out on slicks like most people. Thankfully it cleared soon and we had a drying track coming. I got into a nice little battle with a few drivers, @Battenberg @cheekymunkey78 @steveg200 which was really good, then, I dropped my right rear onto the kerb at the exit of Campus, got a load of oversteer and into the barrier on the opposite side of the track. I picked up some light damage. Tried to carry on for a couple of laps, and then at the top of Eau Rouge I spun again and hit the barrier hard. Heavy damage, time to pit. Changed tires and back out for a very lonely 1hr 30 minutes or so. I really enjoyed the challenge of managing the cool tires during the night, with some standing water still ready to catch you out. As the sun came up (which looked amazing) and the track temp went up I tried hard to push to catch anyone in front. I only made up places with people retiring - as always - but then I could see @Battenberg only 25-30 seconds ahead. I pushed really hard and after he had made a couple of mistakes I was only a few seconds back with about 4-5 laps remaining. Then, going up through Eau Rouge I got my entry all wrong and spun over the top and into the barrier. More heavy damage, but the car was drive-able to the end finishing P7.

I hope there will be more ACC racing here :)

Yeah that's really dissapointing, I really hoped we'd have a great action packed race yesterday but it turned out to be 10 cars cruising most of the time :/ I hope it changes next season

Unfortunately update 1.0.7 and the 5 point tyre model was not released in time for our race. I had 4 incidents with 'rail' effect, and a few crazy curb 'kicks' during the race but fortunately leading to no accident. But I tend to become a bit nervous when passing a curb with 150+ km/h and suddenly the car is locked down in an invisible track
