OK I will be online from ~3pm UK time to do anything around team creation or whatever. A few last questions:

Getting into teams:
  • Will we be invited into teams this afternoon?
  • Are we all running the standard 2020 livery or are there car colour specific versions? (does everyone need to download the livery or does only the starting car need to do it?)
Driver swaps: For GTE cars that are taking tyres and refuelling, does the driver swap add any additional time?

- Yes you will be invited.
- Nope, you will be running the team livery of the team you will be invited.
- No download needed, just start trading paints.

Nop. You change driver while you refuelling/changing tyre. If i remember correctly the driver swap should be done while you refuelling.

Last questions (I think).
  1. Can/should anyone from a team be the one to enter the session, or will that be done by admins?
  2. Does the qualifying driver have to start the race in this?
man...such basic questions :D

Just to add what @t0daY has put, both of you can register for the session @UnstopaPaul if you have the admin right. When the first person clicks register for the race session you will see:

Select your car, team and then make sure that "TEAM MEMBERS ONLY" is selected and click register.

If your teammate wants to register as well, he clicks the red link and on the right hand side, under "Join Already Registered Teams" will be your team and they'll be a green register button there.

Otherwise, you need to join via Teams -> My Team Sessions

You will probably see 2 sessions there, one is the practice session when you registered for the race server and the other is the "race lobby", if you hover over the 3 dots you will see the "Local start" time and you'll easily see which is the race/practice session.

Results:
Alex and Jan won their race by 30 seconds as Jared, Paul, and Andrew got rekt multiple times by dummies and their own incompetence. Ben and John crawled their way back to 20th from 40th on the grid. Overall not a terrible showing for RSR this race.

As for my poor race, I present exhibit A

Happy with that myself and @Ben Watkinson i think did bloody really well considering we started 40th only 24inc points and quite a few of them were due to use being hit.. Felt super comfy in the Ferrari getting to grips with the car and iracing now...

^^ There is a serious point to bear in mind here when team racing. Know your team mates and what level of chatter they desire/appreciate while in the chair.

And now for a bit of science. Human brains perceive concepts in a very specific way. We can't actually construct a negative image without conjuring the positive image. In order for you to imagine "not crashing", you brain first conjures the image of a crash, so it knows what to avoid. Sadly, this makes the positive event (in this case with negative consequences) much more likely, since it is what is being visualised.

So, as a coach or friend on the sidelines, think about the words you use when spurring on your teammate. Instead of "don't make any mistakes", try "you're in a great rhythm, keep it up".
