After some time to reflect (and sleep!) we really did experience the highs and lows of this special event as @Jonno pointed out we would.

High - @Morvic putting in a great qualifying session to put us 3rd
Low - For some reason we decided to change tires on the first stop which put us 30 sec down
High - @Morvic and @Exited great work to get us back in the mix after the pit stops
Low - My brake pedal issues in my first double stint causing us to drop a few positions and lose time
High - @Jeff[NL]'s magnificent double stint to recoup all the time I had lost
High - Perfect next round of stints for everybody including myself - brake issue fixed!
Low - After having a perfect 18 hours, @Exited and a lapped car had contact causing over 1 hours of repairs and with 6 hours to go, the end of our race.

I loved everything about this event, from the planning and training laps to sharing the car with the best 3 teammates I could want for my first 24 hour race and iRacing race. It was an absolute pleasure and if I had the option to, we will come back next year (or even sooner) even stronger.

A huge thanks to @Battenberg - without his account none of this experience would be possible!

I've just renewed my iRacing subscription, I'm going to get these MX5 races out of the way and then join you guys for regular iRacing events moving forward.

And as usual thanks to all the RSR staff for the planning, liveries and all the time involved getting this prepared and to the other 9 teams for proudly representing this community.

Team White finished 4th with Team Orange finishing just behind in 6th, conveniently both cars were together on track for the chequered flag. Epic race from all drivers, and cant thank my teammates enough for such an awesome team

Question related to future special events... Does license reset after a period of not using the account? I had A license on my own account but last time I played iR on it was around mid 2018. Just making sure if I had to grind it out or not.

It should be the same.

A few reflections of my own.

High: I felt much better prepared this year. Doing the 6Hrs of Road America was a great idea. It feels that RSR as a whole were much more up for preparing this year.
High: So many RSR cars, truly awesome to see. You are all winners
Low: I just could not find pace in my first session. Yes the car had some damage, but honestly, I once more had far too much addrenaline running through me. My braking leg was shaky as hell throughout
Low: Bimmers
Low: Waking at 4:20am
High: Waking at 4:20am to find the guys had put in an awesome effort overnight to be chasing down 5th.
Low: Bimmers
High: 0x in each of my third and 4th stints. 3x in total for 4hrs driving, no spins, no crashes. Honestly, this everything I was aiming for
Low: a string of bad luck and punch drunk crazies in the early morning dashing our hopes to get fifth.
High: Bimmers towing us...!
High: A great team spirit to see out the race out in 8th place. Sadly some of the best banter was in the 45 mins before I started the stream, otherwise I'd be twitch partner by now :joyful:

Thanks to @Stokemon @Alex Salmon and @Blue Monkey for an unforgetable event.

team blue. for taking it all the way.

Team red. for never giving up an @Blue Monkey for doing the longest stint lol..

Team white. Who kept us honest the entire 24h @Darksi @Jamesl91 @Shepard you should be super proud of that performance to come back from a DC to finish p4 and best us when it looked like it was all in our favor..

some late thoughts from my first 24 hours

Wowie, 1st place? Jeepers. Didn't really expect that, but once we figured out we were in split 7 we had an idea that we would be competitive. Though I'm still not super pleased with myself in my consistency and lap performance in the second drive I had, I'm still happy with how I jumped from only one two hour drive in an iELMS race to a 24 hour race without massive issues. Let's just not talk about the incident counts though...

Bit surprised that we were in such a low split considering the iRating we signed up with. The pace from everyone was excellent and consistent, although my second stint had some atrocious laps that was putting me in a bad mood. Luckily Iceman and Vernux's soothing voices and sexy demeanor kept me calm and after Iceman gave me a small break to calm down with a bathroom and food break, I set more consistent laps as I re-entered the car that I was more proud of. Still, not super pleased with .5 seconds a lap I was losing from practice laps in the track temps we were having.

@fab. ICEMAN and @Vernux were absolute units inside the car and outside. Both when driving were consistently competing or were fastest men on track, and although everyone had their one spin or small incident, we all kept them to an absolute minimum. I am definitely willing to say that those two carried my 24 hour virgin butt to a first place xD.

Compared to the other RSR cars, we were lucky with the DP's and GT3's. DP class had two drivers running solo who were super respectful with their overtakes especially later in the race and didn't cause us any issues. Only two DP's were really causing us many issues, with one almost wrecking us at bus stop and forcing Vernux into the run off and getting a penalty. Later in the race they retried the same trick on Iceman, but after we asked them to chill they were a bit smarter about passing. Other DP's were off and on with the occasional idiot DP spin at horseshoe.

GT3's had some massive meatballs all over and drifters on the ovals, but we kept our space and didn't force anything too extreme (bar one point where all drivers just seem confused on what was going to happen). Some cars were still running even when they really shouldn't have been but I still give them respect for trying to finish the race.

We also had Matt Malone's team in the race, though after their first driver binned it in the first stint it was quite obvious afterwards that they weren't taking the race itself super seriously. Malone jumped in and drove 7 STINTS before leaving the car. After that though, it was all downhill from there. They had a driver that seemed to be taking it slightly seriously but he rarely drove, and Actrollvision would never stop talking over the in game comms which meant all of us turned off voice chats.

Super happy with our performance and although I don't think I'll be ready to take on an endurance race like Nordschleife or Bathurst yet, I'm excited to challenge other events like this in the future.

That all being said, we must issue a reprimand to Vernux, who killed multiple innocent cones the entire race. That sick bastard should be

I said I wanna take a deep breath of the endurance racing thrill and, oh boy, I took a really deep breath with all the highs and lows you can have in endurance racing o_O

I wanna thank @t0daY , @fab. ICEMAN , @grobi0815 and everybody else who was involved in the preparation of this event. I really loved the spirit that we had at RSR with the practice sessions that we had together, sharing setups, discussing about strategies, getting me newbie somewhere in this game and answering countless questions :D
Tbh I never felt such a friendly spirit in any other sim racing community, loved it and I can definitely say that I already checked the iRacing special event schedule for this year  will probably skip Bathurst, but Sebring, Nordschleife and Le Mans are pretty high on my list!

I wanna also thank my teammates again @Morvic @CatchAGlimpse and @Jeff[NL] . There could not have been better mates for my first ever 24h race and I'm really proud of what we achieved until the 18h mark. We were fast, consistent and managed the traffic really well. Looking forward for more endurance racing with you in the future!

Enough of the nice words, now the sad part starts and it's actually only one point... Our race ending crash :dead: the bimmer was multiple laps down and I did really not expect him to fight me that much into T1. Still my fault and I learned my bitter lesson from it!

Cheers guys,
Exited (Dom)

Of the four 24 hour races that I have done (so far :)) this was my best one. Both in terms of the end result and the experience as a whole.
@Ben Watkinson, @Jonno and @David Siska you are great teammates and I would go racing with you anywhere (except a few tracks that I hate).
Having the guys from team White join us on teamspeak for the final hours made the last part even more interesting.
Just rewatched Ben's stream trying to find my epic exit from the pits on my first stint. I pressed on the clutch instead of the brake. The stop and go penalty was for exiting straight on the track in turn one and not going behind the wall.
Bad news: he was watching our sister car and only caught the end of the shenanigans.
Good news: Thnakfully I use push to talk button, and you didn't hear what I had to say.
