Bad race from my side. Had the wrong setup, way too much wing wich cost me a lot on this track. Such a stupid mistake. Got damage on lap 1 but i don’t know how much laptime that costs? After 10-11 laps i crashed and decided to change the setup. After that my laptimes where 2-2.5 seconds quicker lol. Lesson learned.

Fun race but my pace was nowhere to be found. In the practice races i could do 2:19s high with m-tyres but in the actual race i never went faster than mid 2:21. I did enjoy it very much and the LMP1 cars were polite with their overtakes and nobody was rushing anything. Looking forward to the start of the league!

Good race today and my first proper race in this car I deffo enjoyed it. I’ve got pace but my race pace was lacking so I need to improve that I found the tyres more durable than I thought too. Damage unfortunately ruined any chances of me keeping my pole position however David was very quick (congrats). I found out after the race the pit stop sets the rear wing to full which certainly didn’t help me in the second half of the race and I’ve learnt for the future damage takes a very long time to repair.
Gte’s mostly good and kept to their line however some made it very difficult by coming out of a corner and moving off the racing line and almost causing a collision as this is where I was placing my car.
good race I’m looking forward to the season.

I'm glad you opened the damper settings. After some changes the car felt perfect. I really like this car now. I just have to figure it out how can I stop the rear tires overheating during braking.:)

I heard that some of you have experienced which I did last time: Long repair in the pits, then the car was understeery and slow on straights.
You have to pay attention to the REAR WING setting:
ierbox.png
You can't change it in the pit strategy menu.
You can only change it during driving or in the pits, with the D-Pad or the arrow keys on the keyboard.
It's default at +25 I think - that is a lot.
This is why the repairs are shown, and changed the car's handling.

In what felt like my first race for a long time, I'm very happy with how that went! Even without my couple of silly spins, I wouldn't of had a chance against @David Siska, congrats on the win!

Thanks for the great race everyone. We were lacking a bit in numbers, but the quality was pretty much there :)

Please feel free to leave any feedback on how the event was run, this was a test race afterall. We will be discussing increasing the PLP warnings & the LMP1 pitstop wing angle change between the staff, and can address any other concerns you have.

Here's my POV video:

47:28 - Qualy Lap
1:27:09 - Race Start

@MelBonkers the code brown moment is at 1:28:57 ;)

New starting procedure worked a treat :D

I do have a big concern over the Prototype cars overtaking.
4 times a Prototype car IMHO "yeeted" it up my inside under braking when they were too far back on the straight to attempt a safe pass.
I took damage the first time (less than 10 minutes in to the race), the other 3 if I had stuck to my racing line (as per instructions) they would have resulted in a crash. On those 3 my only option was to take to the off-road. Please remember I had already begun braking and turning in to the corner, no part of their car was along side when I started turning.

(Please no names, investigations or pointing figures as that is not the point of my concern)

Silverstone and Spa are big, wide tracks. I am concerned when we fly out to America it could end up being carnage especially with the added element of Points on the line and more cars on track.

Last thing I want is to raise 3 stewards enquiries each race or have mine or any Prototypes race ruined due to a not safe pass.

This is a tricky one and there is no one right answer (I bet we all have a very strong opinion :) - I am just raising a concern and possibly seek some balance and thoughts from the community) - I have interpreted the "Safe Pass by a Prototype" and "GT3 stick to the racing line" as - it is the responsibility of the Prototype to overtake safely and the GT3 is under no obligation to yield, providing the GT3 sticks to the racing line. (please note I said Obligation, We all need to be sensible about when we lift off and should favour that but this would be a choice). Due to no Obligation for the GT3 any attempt for the Prototype to overtake causing the GT3 to take evasive action could result in a potential penalty for the Prototype driver.

I have had 7 incidents like this in two races and all under braking in to corners. 99.9% of the overtakes are very sensible and conservative and worked very well.
This is my first season of Multi-class and I am happy to have my opinion re-calibrated by the community or league owners/stewards but would love some thoughts now we have had two races and before the season starts.

I can not wait for the season, it is going to be awesome :D

That was an interesting race, but also sometimes very quiet, only some Protos passing by from time to time.

By the way, this was my first real online race and my intention was to finish the race without an accident - done ;)

But i also had some problems...at the last rounds I noticed that I run out of fuel (the times shown in the pit were wrong and i allready fueled +10%), so I slowed a down and let some cars pass. And anyhow i get it to 90min with the last 0,1 Liter, at the end i saw "Leader has to drive 2 Rounds" ? ...the End :dead:

Another problem was the teamspeak sound, it was just to quiet, I turned the Master and the Motorsound down as much as possible but still had trouble to hear everyone, the motorsound was still louder - cant even hear my own voice.

Realy annoying was the pitstop in VR, because I put "center view" on a pov button, should be possible in combination with pitstop.."should"
What it does, was to turn my view 30° to the left when pressing the button...:jimlad:

Has anyone saved the results?

Cool race, I had a good battle with @Jeff[NL] for the first 25mins then I think he had some incident with a prototype while being lapped. Such a shame because we had similar pace and it would have been a race till the flag drops.
This made my race quite lonely and I tried some stuff like fuel saving, tire management etc to be more prepared for the first real round of this league.

The car is nice to drive and the default setup and the limited setup options should give everyone the opportunity to setup the car for his likes.
The lapping by the prototypes was mostly alright, in some occasions it got a little bit hairy but no damage done. Will be a different story on a track like Sebring which is much tighter especially in the first sector :)

Like I said it would be cool if we can increase the warnings threshold of PLP as 4 warnings in a multiclass 90mins race is quite tight.
Other than that there is nothing in my head which could be improved. Like I said the setup for the Vette is good. Don't like how non ABS cars do work in AC as the window between braking properly and locking up is like 1mm big and there is literally no feeling when the grip does drop off... But that's an AC thing, nothing to do with this league :)

Ordered my Simcube 2 yesterday, hopefully I have everything dialed in for the first round.

'Sebring, wreck my fckn arms!'

Cheers,

You must try SIMVIBE, then you can feel when the tires are locking up, i can share my setting if you want.
You also feel nearly everything (If you want)

I´m a big fan of that, just run this with my motherboard a 35€ Amplifier and 2x 35€ Bass Transducers + ~80€ Software

I have the same problem with teamspeak, i can’t hear a thing haha. I hear it a little bit when im standing stationary in the pits but when i am driving i almost hear nothing.

Yeah I have the same issue in most games with TS, It really should have a compressor built into it. I now have an overly complicated mixing setup for my PC audio, but when I was just using the mixer in windows game audio would often be as low as 10%, with my headphones cranked to get a good balance. o_O

Welcome to multi-class ;) Joking aside, yeah it's a tricky one with stewarding and driving standards. Multi-class driving etiquette is one big grey area full of variables and crossed communication cues. It's very easy to just say 'GT cars should stick to their line', but sometimes it's the LMP1 cars fault for forcing a dodgy situation. A lot can be done by the quicker class to avoid common messy situations, both classes have to work together in a predictable way.

When driving GT cars, my pet hate is when an LMP1 car catches you approaching a corner, and under braking/turn in they half-heartedly sit behind in your blind spot having a look up the inside. If I can't see you, I'm assuming you're on my rear corner, so of course I'm not going to take the apex because that would wipe both of us out. So go for the move or don't (shit or get off the pot:p), don't sit in blind spots!

Dive bombs on the other hand are almost the inverse of that issue. If a LMP1 is in your wheel tracks behind you just before the braking zone, you're going to assume they're going to stay there. But with the braking zone being so small on some corners, LMP1 drivers can't assume the slower cars have seen them go for the sudden move out of nowhere. Once a GT car commits to a corner, all that loaded weight can't suddenly open up a LMP1 sized gap. Clear car positioning and maybe a headlight flash approaching a braking zone goes a long way to signal intent.

And of course, people can get distracted, or simply misjudge braking zones, closing speed, or braking performance; so accidents will happen, but communication through car positioning beforehand can give everyone a heads up of what's about to go down. Someone might cry: "...BuT iM lOsInG tImE!" - welcome to multi-class ;)

I would like to agree about the plp situation maybe 1 more warning would be nice. Furthermore I am worried about gte’s on these American tracks that aren’t as wide, particularly several sections of Sebring it is going to be very hard to pass.
