I won't be racing this evening all. I hope the finale will be a close and tight race! Hopefully I'll see you soon on track! Godspeed and have a safe race!

To add further to @Cluck

During Qualifying, when allowing other drivers to pass, please think about where you let them overtake, its not always a bad thing if u have to navigate the corner before allowing them to pass. The racing line is important here so any awkward passing is likely to lose you a lot of time.

Should be an exciting race and great way to end the season! :)

I may or may not make it back in time. Got a teacher-parent night and if the same lengthy discussions continue I’ll be stuck for a while.

From a jawdropping experience in the GTE car, to an absolute downfall in the GT4. I just cannot drive this car anymore and it's just me. I really wanted to do this 75 minute race, but the car and I just don't glue at all.

Firstly, I do want to apologise to @Col_McCoy for the punt into T2, I was caught out by how early you were braking (well, not just you but lots of folk were). Totally my fault and I know we're all good but I still wanted to apologise in public. For those that didn't know, once I saw the Colonel go into the pits, I made sure that when my pit stop was done, I let him past as soon as possible.

With that said, that race was hard work and I had a massively good battle with @Nighttiger for what felt like forever :D. If I hadn't spun out of T8 (through missing my braking point) I would have had P3 but I'll settle with P4, far better than I was anticipating after my total disaster in qualifying. I couldn't hook the car up at all, despite doing some test quali laps in the same conditions (and was doing sub.1m23 laps without a problem).

Congratulations to @t0daY, whose result tonight gives him the driver's championship in split 1 :). And congratulations to everybody that took part, it was a hard fought season :).

Thought I'm gonna share my story,
I had some free time during the weekend, so I did a few laps at long beach with VR headset on. Once accustomed, the laptimes were on par with single screen I'm using normally, the difference are the hairpins - last corner in this case. I could not believe how easy it is, when you actually see where the corner is. Alas, my graphics card is a potato, and it was not stable 90fps even when I was the only one on track, single screen it is for now.
Did some practice for this race, was finally happy with setup. Qualy was shit. I couldn't get a good lap. Multiple times I had -0.5+ second up until the last corner, where I f*cked it up every time.
Anyway, started from P10 I believe a settled down for a long drive, since overtaking is impossible there, and I wasn't faster anyway :)
Than of course, I hit the inside wall in the *last corner*, got 14 rear aero damage, which led me to spin and hit the wall few corners after that. Finished the lap, going to pits, and I've pressed the menu button instead of pit limiter - genius. Missed the pit entry, had to back up. Very pretty. Aaand the pit crew didn't bother changing my tyres.
After all of this, I sort of lost all enthusiasm and concentration, did some slow laps, hit some walls in last corner and went wide in first corner 'cause of bad braking(though brake point was correct), which leads me to my biggest problem. The brake pedal. Using shitty t3pa, it is only possible to trailbrake when I'm concentrating only on the brake pedal and nothing else. Which is only sort of fine doing hotlaps - I had 3rd fastest lap yesterday, after PD and Diluvian. Load cell brake pedal is definitely first thing on my upgrade list.
All and all, I could at least have a biggest no. of pitstops - 4, but James did equally well :)

Sorry for the long post!
Congrats to @t0daY ! And thank everyone, who participated in this cup. It was my first ever experience in competitive racing of any kind. I was doing only some casual single player stuff before PCars2 release. Cheers,
M.

What a last race and what a first season for me. The start of the season was really problematic for me. My setups weren't easy to drive at all and I always lost control of the car during the races. Now the last race and with the tires of Patch 3 I was able to make setups which suited my driving style very well and the last races were really funny. In todays race I again showed my main skill, the micro-lacks of concentration which ended 3 times with a crash into the barriers and I had to repair the car. :dead:

Thanks to everyone who participated in the race. Everyone was really fair to me and fighted me absolutely fair but also the overlapped people who always had to make room to let me pass. Thank you very much!

It could have ended in a much more competitive race for me and @ProjectPD without my crashes :). But you still have deserved the win! Congrats!

@Hujkis I saw you had quite a good pace behind me, too bad that you had to repair your damage!

And yay, congrats @t0daY for winning the championship :).

I want to thank RSR for making this cup possible, it was amazing and had a blast. Especially the last race, now I know how it is to race a street circuit, with no room for error whilst under heavy pressure from behind. I was racing with my CSL Elite pedals and base for the first time in a ranked race, sweat was running everywhere...

Now the race, I did quite alot of laps around long beach ~200 or so, not for the speed but for the consistantcy. It really payed off. Couldn't really nail the dampers though, the car was very bouncy and unstable at the braking zone into the first right hander of the third sector.

Had a very good quali, lapped a 1,23,3 or something which was the fastest time I've ever set, so that was good. I think alot of people had a bad qualifying due to the temperature difference compared to the race. The race was 4th of june 00:00, however the qualifying was on the 4th of june at 23:00, so 23 hours after the start of the race with completely different temperatures. I knew how important qualy would be so I trained for those conditions. Ended P7 with only 1 tenth difference to P4.

The race was very important because @Col_McCoy and me were fighting @Diluvian and @TheDoctor46 (which DNS, good for us) for the team championship!

And then came the race, I thought, just keep it steady, don't overheat the tyres and do not crash. Had a good start, but I was too safe entering the first corner and I lost 2 places, including a little doorbanging with @stolnikas . Then I settled in my position and made sure my temps were good, I knew I didn't have such a pace advantage over stolnikas that I could go for an overtake normally. Stolnikas spun in turn 1 though, then @t0daY spun in turn 1, @Col_McCoy an @Cluck had a crash in the fountain and suddenly I found myself P4. Managed to extend my stint till 33 minutes to go and then I spun in turn 1 and tagged the inside wall. Lost some time but it was time for my stop anyway, fell back behind Salmon and Cluck I think in P5. However Cluck span and @Alex Salmon crashed in turn one which gave me a solid P3. However @Cluck had a slight pace advantage over me and settled in close to my rear 15 minutes before the end of the race. It was one of the most intense RSR racing moments I've ever experienced, witholding big pressure from behind and just trying to keep focused and keep the car out of the wall. In the end I managed to hold on and finished p3 in an almost error-free race! Really happy!

With @Col_McCoy finishing P10 and Diluvian P2, I think we bagged the championship!! And I also think I win the best AM driver of Split 1 cup:)!

And last a shoutout to all drivers from Split 1, almost all races were a blast and fair! Thank you for that!

So yeah, @Nighttiger it was very lovely to have you as a teammate, but I'm pretty sure you don't classify as an AM driver anymore.. you probably scored more points than me as well, so I should say I did not do my job BUT

Actually I do feel I did my job. Qualifying I was really surprised I was able to catch 4th, especially with no training on qualifying mode. Therefor I know pace in the race should be steady.
It was a bit a of scruffy first lap, where once again it seem I'm not as hard as other drives.... and this is not the first time I say this, so I'm more and more thinking it's me who takes less risk. Doesn't matter, at long beach you'll get punished for taking risks. Unfortunately somebody kissed my ass after a few laps, which with 1 personal mistake later in the race, was the end for me and fighting for a podium.
I was unable to continue and had to pit early. After pitting out I did not loose any time, even with the amount of repairs I had to do, to @Cluck so, you could say I had a good pace. But since I had to go into the pits so early, I changed my tyres ofcourse to make it to the end.
This made for some scruffy racing in the night and at the end of the race the tyres were just not at it's best anymore. I was able to catch @t0daY and was really looking forward to have a battle with you the last 10 minutes, but with the 'spin' between us of another driver and my tyres being 1 hour old, I was just not able anymore.... so all in all a decent race which could have been a lot more, but that's racing.

Thank you for this lovely season! Thank you for your great racing and especially common sense and respecting each other!
Looking forward to the next one!

Hi guys, still have to review the latest posts but I feel guilty to apologize to @Diluvian. I'm really sorry for the DNS but work crossed my plans and there was no way I would make it in time for the race (yet the Q) :( I was quite pissed and havent looked into the forum since now (drunk..) so I better get back to it in a more reasonable status :hungover:

No problem mate! Life goes first as always :) :mooning:

Short summary for you: I ended up with P2 and Manu P9 (I had to win and he had to be at least 13 position to win the championship). I don't know if we are P2 or P3 in team championship.

What a season guys! It was rough but after 6 rounds of fighting with the car and myself, I did it!

"Champion, there he is!"

Race report first! Qualified P5 with a very late "fast lap" (if you ignore @Diluvian and @ProjectPD). I somehow struggled quite hard compared to my practice I did the weekend before. P12 was needed, P5 in qualy. Was a good starting point until the race started...

Race started... Could successfully take P4 before turn 1 which put me directly behind @Vernux. Could follow him quite well, behind me was @Alex Salmon who put a lot of pressure on me in the early race. Then the mistake happened... Spinner in turn 1 and I had to let pass the whole field! P17, out of the championship, what a disaster. I started my recovery drive and placed me in 14th position behind @Invincible and @jamesl91. I really pushed with all I had...

Then I was caught in a spinner in turn 1 from @Nakor I believe, which gave me enough aero damage to go for an early pitstop. And then it went even worse. Pit Crew did not repair my damage although I selected it. Had to do a second pitstop which put me back to P15 behind @Hujkis. 40 minutes to go and I was kinda back at the beginning. Kept pushing and with some mistakes of others, I could manage to finish P9 which was enough to win the Championship! :) :)

But...

what is a championship against racing in a community with such nice and fair people through the whole season? Yes, nothing! I might won the championship by points but in my opinion, we are all champions! We created an environment with no bad blood (maybe some tears) and this is all that counts in my opinion. I am really proud to race here guys! :)

I would especially like to thank @Puffpirat and @Diluvian for their help over the season. We drove against each other for the championship but that didn't hinder both of you to help me out with setups and practice. Thank you!

It was really a pleasure with all of you and I am looking forward to season 4 or maybe something different in the future, who knows ;)

Final results are up and I also included all guest drivers in the standings: https://revolutionsimracing.com/threads/split-1-results-standings.962/

My pov of the final race:

Your Angry German Manu :mad::punch:
