UnitedRacingDesign(URD) are making some old GT cars for AC.

What they release are the following:

Mercedes CLK GTR, Porsche GT1 and Lotus GT1 as a paid pack

Mercedes CLR, Toyota GT-One and McLaren Longtail as free cars.

And they have just release the DTM 2018 series - https://sellfy.com/p/GxVc/

I can highly recommend AC Content Manager for installing mods, it's free to try out but a donation of 2 Euro is enough to get you a full version code. Makes life so much easier. You just drag and drop the zip file onto the CM screen and then click install. It also works as an alternative launcher.

also works well with the GBW weather suite so you can have "real" dynamic weather & day/night cycles

does anyone know of a mod to get rid of/replace the ridiculous red box that marks your pit? just the marks on the ground would suffice, the higher ones are a bit stupid.

I have found the offending article - pit_indicacator.kn5 - in the 3dObjects folder. would removing it do any harm? or would I need to replace it with a different pit_indicator.kn5 model?

You can always try to delete and check if the game still works and if they are removed? :)

If they game doesn't work after, then just to go steam and verify steam files, then it will redownload them.

Or easier, just copy/paste them to your desktop. :)

i learnt the hard way that verifying files in steam removes a lot of modded files*. (now have copies handy to reinstall if it ever happens again)

*i get bored at work so although only a few days old my version of AC has virtually every car/track/mod available....

Assetto Corsa Night & Rain Mod (And More)
20181114225030_1.jpg

Hi Sim Racers!

I gathered some useful informations about the night and rain mods for Assetto Corsa.
I hope you find it useful.

The mod that allows these features is Custom Shaders Patch. It's under continuous development with new features in every release.

So here is the list about what you have to do to enjoy this superb extension.

#1 Content Manager
You can install the Shaders Patch manually, but I recommend to install it with Content Manager. It is an alternative launcher for Assetto Corsa. Also you’ll need this if you want to utilize all the features the mods can offer you.
It's an amazing program with so many possibilities. I won't describe all the features here, I'll focus only on the topic of this post. But here is a great explanatory video by Chris Haye:

Download
You can download CM from here:
https://assettocorsa.club/index.php?q=content-manager.html

It's a lite version but you can donate any amount of money to get the full version.
It'll automatically update itself if a new version releases.

Installation
No installation needed. Download the program, then you can run it immediately.

#2 The Custom Shaders Patch
The Custom Shaders Patch does the magic and it is required for the following mods.

With this patch you’ll have:
  • Dynamic lights for night racing (car & track)
  • Windscreen effects (working wipers & raindrops)
  • A new loading screen
  • Adjustable mirrors
  • Visible interior in mirrors
  • Working turning lights and hazard lights
  • Under car and tyre shadows
  • And many more features.

Download
You can download the stable version from here
https://acstuff.ru/f/d/28-shaders-patch-dynamic-lights
or here
https://trello.com/c/6em3uuLJ/22-stable-builds

Also there is always preview builds with new features and also some bugs:
https://trello.com/c/d4PszvUr/21-preview-builds

Installation
  • The easiest way to install is to click on the “install using CM” Link.
    Screenshot_2018-11-14 Shaders Patch - Dynamic Lights - AC Stuff.png
  • The Content Manager will automatically load it. (You’ll see 3 green lines in the top right corner)
    cm_patch.png
  • Then you have to install it (Click on the 3 green lines, then click on the Install button)
    cm_patch2.png
  • Then you have to enable it in the Content/Mods menu

If a new version releases you have to update it manually. When you update the patch you have to disable it first in Content Manager.

#3 Good and bad weather SUITE
It'll give you night time and different real life weathers like light and heavy rain. Also more beautiful clouds. With this mod you can get real time conditions for the track in CM. (actual time and weather)

Download
https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/good-and-bad-weather-suite.19484/

Installation
CM haven't support the installation yet. You have to do it manually.
Please read the manual in the downloaded file. It has instructions for the installation.

#4 Assetto Corsa Wet Mod
The developer of this mod created wet surfaces for kunos tracks.

Download
https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/assetto-corsa-wet-mod-by-a-fracasso.22468/

Installation
  • Copy the mods directory from the compressed file to the assetto corsa directory (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\assettocorsa\)
  • Then you have to enable it in the Content/Mods menu
    cm_patch3.png

#5 BLM Car
Although the Shaders Patch has an app which you can turn on the wipers and the raindrops. This mod gives you more control of them.
  • Rain (even with random intensity)
  • Wipers (even intermittent)
  • Mirrors
  • Car repositioning (reset, step back)

Download

#6 BLM Lights
You have full control of the light with this app.

Download
https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/blm-lights.22463/

Future project
Another unbelievable project is “SOL”. It haven't finished yet but it'll give AC full 24h cycle.

The developers said:

"No release date could be given. It's just the start. BUT! full 24h day & night cycles will be possible."

Here are some great teaser videos:
SOL 0.1 From night to day transition
SOL 0.2 From day to night transition (60x)
SOL 0.3 Oscillator effects (lightning)
SOL 0.4 Cloud positioning
SOL 0.5 New fog shader
SOL 0.6 Dynamic weather / Fog
SOL 0.7 Direct comparison to gbwSuite
SOL 0.8 Weather changes
WeatherFX + SOL - Solar eclipse

That's it for now. If something changes I'll let you now in this comment.
Please let me know if I missed something.

Cheers,
David
