So, of course the Huey goes on sale like a week after I buy it...

Loving it so far. Totally crazy, though. Wupp wupp wupp wupp wupp.

I really wish DCS would have a dynamic campaign like BMS has. I'd install it back instantly.

Not to talk you into something, but:

The Ka-50 campaign is dynamic - of course that's like 40 Bucks for the Black Shark (Autumn Sale at the moment it's $ 23.99 or $ 39.99 bundled with the A10-C) and 10 for the campaign, or so.

I don't know what's there in UGC, DCS World has a strong editor, so I wouldn't be too suprised to find out someone has actually put something together.

I'm still at the stage of learning to hover with the Huey without crashing. The flying really is the easy part, but hovering... yeeeeeeeesh. And let's not talk about landing the thing.

The Frogfoot is pure vacation in comparison.

I have DCS World aswell, im just not good enough sofar to get into a fight, the knowledge is missing. Takeoff and landing I can though. Sofar I have only the F15C ...

well yeah we paid 50 bucks for 3 planes and never played them cause you need to study 600 pages of start-up sequences to get the damn thing flying (i know there is easy to start stuff too) but its fun indeed probably need more hard drive space first though

Well, you can make,or find online, startup checklists which will improve your learning speed drastically. For the A10 I made myself a checklist following the tutorial. The only time I needed the manual was for the advanced weapons setup in the MCDU. It's the same for all other planes I fly. Granted if you don't spend much time in cockpits it takes a bit of time to find the knobs you're searching for, but you will pick up on that quite quickly. The procedure otherwise is basically the same for almost all planes. Start the APU, if not on the external power. Then the fuel pumps and later the engines.

Just reading this thread it made me miss this plane so much that I decided I'll probably reinstall the sim tonight.

I can't stop thinking about the Ka-50... since it's so "cheap" atm.

But there's also the fact that I still need to buy Le Mans in iRacing. And I should wait 'til October...

Hahaha! I managed to set up my G29 pedals as rudder pedals, and all of a sudden I can hover in the Huey like a pro.

Finally, finally! I am getting a grasp on landing the Huey. Still a little sketchy sometimes, but, hey, Rome hasn't been built in a day.
