Tested it yesterday. You need to have the DLC content to use it.
If the lobby is set to use 'Identical car' all drivers need to have purchased the DLC to join / drive
If set to 'Same class' others without DLC can join, but will not have access to use the DLC content (both cars + tracks, so driving a DLC track will never work for anyone that has not purchased the DLC).

Don't think I'm going to be able to make it. The independent coffee roastery a few doors down from me is launching a new craft beer at a local gastropub (and life doesn't get much more hipster-middle-class than that, ladies and gentlemen!), and I'm pottering along to give them some support.

Tried a few cars last night. The 908/03 (on Suuuuuuu-GO) is all sorts of awesome. pCARS2 taught me how to heel-toe way back in early development; for the first time with the 908/03 I was left-foot braking with a three-pedal car – using whatever foot was 'free' to brake, and occasionally swapping them over if needs be. When it all went smoothly, it felt bloody awesome!

ooooh, off-topic but remind me to ask you if that roastery also delivers - nothing I like more than a good cup (or ten) of coffee made from freshly roasted 'beans'.

The 908 is my second favourite car in the pack. It's definitely a lot more driveable than the 917/10 but that car pips it for sheer insanity - "hit the throttle and hold on tight" is the only way I can describe how to drive it :D.

They're literally about five doors down from me (the little cobbled street I live on used to be stables way back in the old days, I think. They were pretty much all garages / mechanics about twenty years ago; now just a few garages left and the rest is a mix of residential / commercial). Means I have lovely smells drifting in through my office window most days.

I wish they gave these cars actual names, rather than numbers! I have to google them each time to know what you're all on about...

It's the Porsche Nineoheightslashohthree. Duh.

I thought that Porsche had to rename their 901 to 911 to avoid Peugeot's claim on numbers with a "0" in the middle?? so how come there's a Porch 908?

I'll be fully supporting the theme of this event and enjoying a strong buzz, even though it'll be 11:00am my time. :wacky:

For suggestions, how about some of the old classic tracks, such as:
Hockenheim Classic GP
Monza GP Historic
Rouen Les Essarts
Spa-Francorchamps Historic

It was changed with patch 3 as far as I know. Maybe they changed it again in patch 4, let me investigate that.
If there is no DLC, it will be ejected from the server

Should be able to join for the first time in ages tonight, I think every single car in this DLC sounds exciting. Had to move my sim rig back to my parents as the new temporary rented digs are rather tight on space!

Great fun on Friday, even though I only had time to join for the 917/10 Willow Springs race!

The 917/10 is a very special car and surprisingly manageable to drive on full boost. I've read similar about the real thing, described as though it would be pretty docile and a bit of a pig if it didn't have 1000+ bhp!

If anybody's in Stuttgart make sure you visit the Porsche museum, they've got a 917/30 on display and an exploded engine!

The blue/yellow livery was used on the 917/30, the later more power variant of the 917/10! So that's why that livery isn't in pCars, the real 917/10 liveries are in game, the yellow Bosch one is definitely real.
