General Information

Driver Allocation
In the event of a larger than expected sign-up to this championship, we will place all remaining drivers into a Reserves List. We would ask that Reserve Drivers also form teams. We will consider running multiple splits if there is sufficient interest.

Race Attendance
If you are unable to attend a race, you MUST notify the admin / league organisers at least 1 hour prior to the Driver Briefing. Failure to provide notification will result in your immediate demotion to last placed Reserve Driver. The first available Reserve Driver will then be promoted to drive in your place, racing for their own nominated team. Your demotion will last until such time as a place becomes available through another driver being unable to race. We would prefer you to notify us via a post in the corresponding race thread.

Pre-race Procedure & Requirements
Prior to any of our events starting, you are required to be in our TeamSpeak channel for the driver briefing. Any drivers missing the briefing will not be allowed to race.

All drivers are required to read the details of each race event prior to the start of each race. These event details contain important information pertaining to warm-up lap speed limits and the location (and placement) for the grid "forming up".

Calendar

The Evolution Series will commence on 16/04/2019, with each race held on a Tuesday. Each track on the calendar has been carefully selected to represent a variety of international settings whilst still being uniquely challenging for this season's choice of car.

Required Apps

We will be using two apps called Pit Lane Penalty (PLP) and Helicorsa. These apps detect your position on track, your speed and some other variables to calculate whether or not you gained an advantage by corner cutting or exceeding track limits.

THESE APPS ARE MANDATORY! ANY DRIVER WHO DOES NOT HAVE THESE APPS INSTALLED WILL RECEIVE A PENALTY

Pit Lane Penalty App
Pit Lane Penalty is an app which detects race track cutting. You will receive 3 warnings of cutting the track or exceeding the track limits. On the 4th such event, you will automatically be issued with a drive-through penalty.

Installation: Download the app and follow the installation instructions.

Helicorsa App
Helicorsa is a little radar of an aerial perspective, so you can see what's going on around your car.

Installation: Download the app and follow the installation instructions.

Additional Rules

5.1 Orange Zone
  • For each race an Orange Zone will be defined. Typically the Orange Zone begins with the start of the race and extends through the first 1 lap but maybe shortened or extended depending on the track
  • If a driver causes an incident in the Orange Zone penalties are given out by the stewards
  • The Stewards will automatically review the Orange Zone and any potential areas drivers may cut on the track

Team & Livery Selection

Team Selection
Teams will consist of 2 drivers. Drivers must stick to their chosen team for the duration of the season and should any driver leave their team, the team will forfeit all of their Team Championship points. To select your team, choose your teammate, choose your car, select a livery from those left available for the car and then name your team.

Livery Selection/Creation
At the close of sign-up, each team will need to choose their preferred livery and post their choice in the 'Livery and Team Selection Thread'. You may also opt to run with your own custom livery - see this thread for more information.
Once the livery allocation process has concluded, teams will be obliged to stick to their chosen livery for the full duration of the season. Both drivers must run the same livery, do not select multiple liveries.

NB: You can select liveries from the skin packs below (on a first come, first serve basis) or submit a custom-created one. Threads for submitting custom liveries will be available at a later date, complete with a livery-creation guide.

Points System

Driver Championship

-Pole Position = 4 points
-Fastest Lap = 2 points

In the case of drivers being tied on points in the standings, the higher position will be awarded to the holder of most first places. If the number of first places is the same, the holder of most second places, then third places, and so on until a winner emerges.

Team Championship
Teams will score points for each race based on the finishing positions of both of their drivers.

NOTE: With points all the way down to P26 and damage fixed quickly, don't let your team mate down, finish the race!
