Event: Revolution Cup Season 10 Round 1, Race 1
Member Involved: @CatchAGlimpse, @t0daY , @Taorminator , @Puffpirat , @miagi , @FuBii , @Eugene Flerko , @The Breeze
Replay Timestamp / Lap: Entire Race
Description: Multiple members of the top 10 finishers took significant liberties with track limits throughout (at least) race one. To demonstrate this I have logged all corners for all laps for the top 5 finishers, and the first 10 laps of places 6-10. Mostly consistently and repeatedly abused was turn 3 (the right hand curb heading up the hill), though the final chicane and New Holland (last turn) were also heavily cut or extended to improve lines.

Evidence: For the worst offenders any lap of the race. I have a [sheet detailing the cuts]. The summary table is presented below

How I have measured:
  1. Firstly I have considered any amount of tire on the white line to be "clean". The 3rd tire needs to be entirely off in order to be marked as a cut.
  2. If an offtrack occured as the result of evading another car, or an extremely clear error that evidently resulted in lost time, this has been not been included as a cut.
  3. If the tire was not visible (due to another car behind), benefit of the doubt has been given and no cut.
  4. Only those with 20 or more off tracks (pro-rata in the case of those with only 10 measured laps) have been raised to the stewards as "members involved" for their attention.

@UnstopaPaul,

Although we appreciate the efforts you have made to bring this to our attention, without corroborating evidence at the very least (video is by far and away the most effective) the stewards will not be taking any further action. That said, in this instance, there are simply too many offences for the stewards to look at, coupled with the rather rudimentary replay system in pCARS2.

With regards track cutting in general, we have always tried to operate a semi self-policing approach, where we ask our members to call drivers out in a race if they see a driver cutting the track AND gaining an advantage from it on a frequent basis. We have also operated a "spot check" system in other leagues we have run, primarily in other sims, but this is limited to selecting drivers at random. We did look at track cuts in one of our pCARS2 leagues but the significant amounts of time required to do so meant that it was something we chose not to repeat.

In closing, please do not hesitate to raise the topic again in future races, if you feel track limits are being further violated, in breach of our driving regulations, but please try and restrict it to raising it as a general point within the race thread itself.
