Date: 23.10.2017
Event: RSR Cup - S3 - Split 1 - R2: Imola
Members Involved: @BumperCarrotNL
Description: After spinning out in the first chicane, BumperCarrot rolls a few meters backwards on the left hand side, so I'm fully committed to pass on the right. Suddenly his car snaps right into my way. I try to jump to the left because I expect the car to roll further to the right but it seems in the middle of the road he slams the brakes. It left me with no place to go. There was no "sorry" right after the incident, also no excuse after the race. I'm slightly disappointed.

Yeah, so I want to say that I had no intention of hitting/blocking you at all. I lost the car in that corner on my out lap. I was hitting the brakes as hard as I could to prevent the car from rolling back on the track but unfortunately it had so much momentum that I could not stop it in time for the it not to roll to the middle of the track.

(the steering wheel also doesn't look like what the car actualy felt like. After watching the vid a few times it looks as if I could have easily steered the other way. but it was the car itself that made it go that way. The only thing that would have prevented our accident would have been me actully putting the car in reverse and hitting the throttle as hard as I could've)

I am really sorry that I blocked the road for you.
The reason I didn't say anything during the race was that I just didn't know what to say.
I should have apoligized after the race, but I didn't and I am sorry for that as well.

Having reviewed the footage provided by all members involved, the Stewards deem this a serious racing incident and a breach of our Driving Standards, in particular, section 1.4.1:

"If you are going to be lapped, you should hold your racing line and leave the other driver responsible for making a safe pass. By sticking to the racing line, your movements are more predictable. It is also helpful to lift off the throttle, to allow the lapping car to pass sooner."

The Stewards deem this incident worthy of a Qualifying Ban to be served in the next round of the Revolution Cup. BumperCarrotNL failed to stop his car in a controlled manner, following a spin, and rolled directly into the racing line, causing an unavoidable collision. Drivers should always try to bring their cars to a controlled stop, in as safe a manner as possible following a loss of control, to minimise the potential for contact with other cars.

Are you both happy to release this publicly? If one refuses the thread will stay hidden, please leave a reply in here.
