That’s not how Kurzarbeit works or shouldn’t at least. The government will cover 67% with kids, or 60% without, of your income-loss up to a Bemessungsgrenze of iirc 6900€ brutto.

I know, I know. Still, since my daughter is not on my tax card, I only get 60% from the Bundesagentur für Arbeit. So in total my net income is cut by around 450 €. When you're pretty much living from paycheck to paycheck with high fixed costs, this really sucks.
Still, I consider myself sort of lucky, since I know that there are many that are off much worse than me and really caught the short end of the stick.

Yeah mate I feel ya. We are considering short work too, and I'm pretty sure that it's not long before it goes into effect.
Really not looking forward to this. As you say the fixed costs don't change. Ah well at least we have jobs.

Well since mid or end90s pandemic is seen as the highest thread for our society and economy system. Also SARS was 2002-2003 so over 10 years before his speech?

I'm sure that the next pandemic has been discussed at length, just like in that video. On YouTube there are the Event 20 videos, where they basically rehearse exactly what is happening right now. I gather that we just haven't planned enough for it, globally. This certainly wont be the last pandemic, that's for sure.

On a side note, I am doing well to stay away from news articles and social media. I don't feel quite as anxious as I have been.
