Welcome @Members, to the October 2018 Issue of the RSR newsletter!

Donations
We have had another excellent month with donations from our members raising €50.
To help ensure the long-term continuation of RSR and its associated outlets, please consider donating to help support its operation and enable us to continue to provide the best service and experience we can.

Forum Banner Contest
As part of our recent forum upgrade and redesign, we have purposely left one element out, the banner. That's where you come in!

We want you to design us our new banner, to go across the top of the forum. The banner needs to work on each of the themes we have (light, dark) and ideally will work with any theme, should we choose to introduce new ones in the future.

The size of the banner should be 1920x250 but we are happy to adjust or test banners to see how it looks like with the forum. The banner also needs to tell visitors what RSR is all about, it should capture the spirit of the forum, its members and the games that brought us here.

You can post your WIP posters or finalized posters right here.

So, over to you. Get creative, show us what you can do!

Project CARS 2 - We are still racing
We had some quiet grids in October as we brought out some of the earlier season cars. Taking our Season 2 and Season 3 cars of the Caterham SP/300.R and Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport MR, we also brought out the Renault Sport RS 01 for its first RSR outing and finished the month with the classic combo of the Ford Falcon V8 Supercar at Bathurst. Each race produced great racing and some interesting overtaking opportunities. We are looking to move into November with a continuation of some classic combos and maybe a little something to keep you all going into the New Year, so watch this space!

Hotlap Championship - Round 2
October treated our entrants to a seaside blast along the coast of California Highway Stage 1 in the classic Ford Mustang 2+2 Fastback. Despite proving to be a tricky combination, with a much longer route than a traditional circuit and using a car that took great delight in going sideways at the merest hint of throttle, a number of members enjoyed the combo enormously. With the month finished, Cluck came out as the overall winner, with a maginificent time of 3m24.140s on the default setup! Nada was less than 2 seconds behind, using a custom setup to do a brilliant 3m25.962 run. Rounding out the podium was Born2BSlow, using a default setup to record an excellent time of 3m26.733s.

Congratulations to Cluck as we move onto Round 3 and a change of pace, with the Audi R8 LMP900 at Imola. Good luck and have fun everybody!

Assetto Corsa - Finally arrives at RSR
We are proud to announce the inclusion of Assetto Corsa (and Assetto Corsa Competizione in future) into our stable of racing sims at RSR. We also welcome Noztra, Ricardo Macieira and hinesy32 to RSR, who will be taking the lead in the organisation and running of events and leagues.

iRacing - A race to forget and new liveries coming up for 2019!
For the 10-hour "Petit Le Mans" race at Road Atlanta we fielded a single Porsche 911 RSR, with a team of 4 drivers - The Wayfaerer, GoDATP, SillySausage and grobi0815. The team started from P14 and with The Wayfaerer at the wheel, great progress was made taking the car to 8th position, before some bad luck with a back marker at the end of his second stint resulted in a long repair and a loss of 12 laps to the lead car. GoDATP and SillySausage took their drives and ran a flawless race between them, but there was no chance to fight back with the damaged car. grobi0815 took over for his session and after some rather exhuberant driving, had a heavy accident trying to unlap himself from the car in 4th place. With the Porsche now near-undriveable, the team took the decision to retire, with a little over 4 hours of the race remaining.

The new liveries for season 2019 are almost ready! With help from Dutchtastic (who is the creator of the original design), grobi0815 has crafted a similar design for each car we are actively running at the moment. Here are a couple of examples to showcase the new designs:

On Saturday December 1st, PCDC and TeamBRIT'S are hosting a 6-hour race at Brands Hatch in iRacing. This event is being run to promote a sim racing wheel with adaptions to assist disabled people with sim racing. The race is going to be broadcast on Racespot.TV. Aside from us plugging a very worthy cause, we have also been invited to be a part of it! We will be starting the race with 3 cars (+1 on the reserve list) in this awesome event and we hope you tune in:

rFactor 2 - Road Atlanta, a race to forget!
October brought the start of the Virtual Endurance Championship(VEC), with Round 1 taking place at Indianapolis GP. It was a tough but exciting battle, with all cars finishing in the Top 10 of each Division. With all the teams looking forward to the upcoming rounds, preparation is well underway with the quest for performance never ending.

October also saw Round 2 of the Virtual Le Mans Series(VLMS), which took place at the glorious Georgian circuit of Road Atlanta. The race was forecast to start in the wet but thankfully the rain stayed away. The race, however, did not go well for all cars, with both our GTE teams failing to reach the chequered flag. RSR Red(LMP2) was the only car to finish the race, albeit 31 laps off the lead due to technical issues. All our drivers were disappointed with the end results from this round but that only increases our motivation for Round 3, with the hope of a strong finish.

CrisBCros finally made it to become the member of the month. Great decision!
In my opinion that takes way to long ;)

I was for one season his teammate and really enjoyed driving with this guy :stig:
