Trying to get familiar with the Fuji track... not the easiest circuit... Being a newbie I still got a lot to learn on setups, especially during weather changes. So I got this setup for a perfect sunny day... but the weather forecast during the race will be 'hazy'. I assume I need to lower tyre pressure to get more heat in the tyres and better grip, and maybe set the traction control and ABS a bit higher? But what about the other settings? Might be helpful to have an overview or table on what to change in setup related to the weather condition, starting from or compared to a basic setup which was created on a sunny day, or perfect track conditions.

I think you should aim for the correct tire pressure and the temperature comes from alone then. As far as I have read, 30-32 psi is the best window for the tires, which means in colder conditions you have to start with a higher pressure in your setup.

Looks like once again I'll be a no-show for this one due to work. Goodbye any hopes of a season win I guess. :(

I'd pulled this image from either WMD or public forum (cant remember which) which shows it varies per car type. Yes, I'm lost lol

Wow...me too now. Calling @Puffpirat for help... He seems to be spot on with his pressure settings in every race/car.:cigar:

:cool::oops: Just educated guessing :D

That the pressures vary from car to car makes sense, a GT car is a lot heavier than an open wheeler for example so it needs a higher pressure. Also the tire construction like carcass will differ, differing corner speeds and downforce levels and so on have an effect on the perfect hot pressure, like a faster track with high speed corners could benefit from slightly higher pressures (to compensate the higher tire load). The hot pressures in Topsies chart look about right too me. I'm more the trail and error kinda guy though. That's what I do for finding the right pressure:

When I prepare for a race, I choose custom offline race and set the exact event conditions. Then I do laps until I am consistent. This is important because you need a stable basis or you won't see the effect of a tire pressure change. You can use something like Tom Shanes Profiler running in the background, because it has a trustworthy potential laptime feature, which helps if you struggle to put your best sectors together.

So first thing, pc2 wants a good hot pressure, so if e.g. your right side tires run colder than the left (through the track layout), they will have a lower hot pressure. So you compensate with a higher cold starting pressure on the right. I then do runs with 0.1 bar less than default and 0.1 bar more than default. This give me the direction the tire works best. For the Porsche, like Topsies chart suggests, 1.8 bar seems to be the sweet spot, +-0.05 depending on track.

In case it helps, here's a 1m44.6 lap of Fuji, set in time-trial a few minutes ago. It's more for those unfamiliar with the track. The setup is in the TT so you can grab it from there if you want to give it a go - it's good for 1m45-flat times on full race fuel.

Apologies for the late notice, but: I'm 150 miles away from my rig at the moment. Down staying with my Mum for a few days as she's having an eye operation later. Gutted that I'm missing my second race. This really wasn't the plan coming in, y'know.

She was supposed to have had the op a few weeks back, but it got bumped out the day before – hence the late notice! If this one got bumped as well, I'd have been able to race.

What does it mean? How default tyre pressure perform? or recommended pressure?

I believe these are recommended PSI/BAR per car type when they tyres are up to race temps.

Sorry guys, but my boss just called me and he gave me the emergency phone for tonight, because all my colleagues are ill. It is highly possible that the phone will ring during the race. So, sadly I have to bail out this time .
Have a lot of fun tonight.
