Hi Guys,

I'm a Swiss engineer, who discovered and started to love racing and simulations long time ago. I have had several experience of real life racing, though at amateur level, as pilot and as mechanic. The recent released games are fantastic enough to consider online racing as an enjoyable sport, so here I'm :)

I've been racing the ESL Project Cars PC for almost a year now and I really appreciate the experience. Though I'm still learning, I enjoy challenging the best players there. You can watch some of my highlights on my Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCN_KkT9QbjKbhjblWpzEMKw

I'm looking for a new challenge and race experience, hopefully a bit more suitable to my schedule, as I'm also a proud but busy dad :)

See you on track!

Good day everybody - excited to join this forum and more excited to get on the track with some great people.

I'm 32, live in Canada and have been sim racing on and off for about 10 years. I've always been an avid gamer but have been in and out of sim racing due to fall out of clubs and every day life. I recently invested in some nice sim gear and am happy to get out there and have some fun with people who actually love the sport!

Nice to meet everybody

-Chris

Hi
I'm 36 and love Kart racing. I only have time and money to drive some rental-kart races. At most I love the longer Team races like 4h, 6h or even 24h :)
Since I couldn't always drive Kart I tried different Sim Racers. Starting with GTR2 some years ago, and now playing mostly Project Cars. I think I drive very slow, but with competition I hope to learn something. I try to drive fair, let me know if you see it different.
What else: I work in IT, have a family and love sports like running.
regards

gonza, can you stick to English please on this forum. Although the members are from all across the globe, English is the single language that should be used.

If your English is not great, try putting your post through "Google Translate" first. It won't be perfect but we should all at least be able to read it :)

EDIT : Google translate gave me this :-

Hahaha the only thing that I hope is to have fun and enjoy many carrerar(?) the only hope I can qualify soon to start playing

Thanks Battenberg!
I'm a little busy with work this week, but hopefully the next one will be much easier for me to join in.
In the meantime...how do I connect to TeamSpeak?
Thanks!

Hello
My name i Jesper and username is jesper80.
I am kart/racecardriver. I have been driving in the Rotax Max series in Sweden where I also live. This season I will be racing the ginetta g40 in the Swedish ginetta series.

I joined RSR last year becuase I am a big fan of car racing in all it's form and wanted to compete in racing online aswell as in real life. RSR seemed like a community promoting fair race, which I am a big fan of. They also seemed to have good variety in the races, which is really fun. Then it was also quite easy to join, and I did after yorkie recommended it in one of his videos.

I drive:
Project Cars
Assetto Corsa
F1 Games
Really enjoying raceroom even if I dont have any content except the free stuff

Had good fun reading through these. So I guess it's time to write one for myself...

Hi,
my name is Michael Runtze and I go by the alias of Feanor. (Bonus points if you know where it's from...)
I live in Germany and I'm currently 32 Years old.
My hobbies aside from Sim Racing are: playing videogames, motorsport, reading (sci-fi, fantasy, nonfiction books, manga), listening to music (all kinds of genres), watching documentaries about history and technology, tabletop rpgs and speedruns

The first PC-game I got was Grand Prix 2 back in 1996 (alongside Settlers 2) and I've been playing Racing Sims ever since.
TOCA, SportsCar GT, Race Driver, Need for Speed, GTR 1/2, GT Legends, CMR Rally and Dirt, Test Drive Unlimited, Grand Turismo, Forza Motorsport and Horizon (Horizon3 being the best NfS by the way ;)), Blur and many many more. So I'm kind of an old dog when it comes to racing games.
But at the same time I'm also kind of a fresh puppy, since I only started to race online and use a wheel a year ago.

The biggest fun I've ever had in Sim Racing was probably when I challenged myself to learn the Nordschleife back in the GTR2 days.
I did it in a kind of dumb way. I did not look into guides or other publications, didn't watch videos or explore the track driving slowly.
No! I picked my favorite GT car, turned of all aids except for ABS (used a gamepad back then and couldn't modulate the brakes) and went for it. FULL SPEED... .... ..... inevitably crashing somewhere along the line, leaving my car in a pile of rubble.:blackeye:
(DISCLAIMER: Don't try this at home ... o_O ... No, wait ... try this at home ONLY !!!)
I reset and went for it again... and again... and again... ... ...
... ... ... until after a week the Green Hell was finally kind enough to spit me out on the other side of the Döttinger Höhe.
It took about another week to get something that could be called a "fast" lap.
I know this may sound dreadful to some, but the experience of the puzzle pieces slowly joining together to form a complete image of this amazing track in my head was simply incredible and very rewarding. In fact I would love to be able to "unlearn" the Nordschleife to be able to discover it again. Because while it still is a challenge to race there, the place has lost a lot of its mystery now that I know the place so well.

Back to the topic of RSR. Why am I here?
Well, to have fun racing with you guys, of course.:)
Also I am always striving to improve my racing, and the best way of doing that I found is racing with faster drivers. They keep me motivated by showing me the potential that there still is to unlock and act as a benchmark for myself to know where I have to improve. At the same time while chasing them, they leave a trail of "skillcrumbs" I can pick up. (o_O Am I just making myself sound like a :pigeon:? :nailbiting::yuck:)

My biggest strong point?
Probably track awareness. I try hard to always know where my competitors are to leave them racing room. Unfortunately it also turns out to be one of my weak spots, since I tend to assume that others give me the same room I would give them, only to be surprised when they don't. Also it makes me easy to overtake. Just poke your nose to my inside, I leave you space and you can pass... ... :wideyed: wait, did I really give you that hint? Blast!:banghead:
Well, if you try that on me, better be prepared for me to return the favor.:D

So, what is my biggest fault?
Apparently it's being faster than FlyingKman...
Don't quite know what to do about that... I'm really bad at going intentionaly slow. Maybe I'll try to be faster than somebody else instead!;)
No, seriously it's the total inabiliy to trail-brake. Tried alot, can't do it, hurts alot on tracks where it really saves alot of time.

Anyway. I think thats enough about me.
I'm looking forward to a lot of great races and lots of fun with all of you.

See you on track!
Michael "Feanor" Runtze

PS.: Apparently I'm bad at writing short introductions...:sorry:
PPS.: For any mistakes with the English language, blame school and the internet. They taught me everything I know.
PPPS.: I love postscriptums, did you notice?
PPPPS.: No, I really do!;)

PPPPPS.: By the way, something just came to my mind...
PPPPPPS.: Oh no, it's starting again!
PPPPPPPS.: I find it hard to take myself too seriously. So, if I say something weird, if I write something weird, it is quite safe to assume it to be a joke.:cat:
PPPPPPPPS.: Like this?
PPPPPPPPPS.: Yes!:p
PPPPPPPPPPS.:
PPPPPPPPPPPS.: Ok, Ok! I stop now. I promise! :sorry:
