Giving a little update on my return to form. :)

After the huge Sebring win I have not really done any races whatsoever. With my back slowly getting better from physical therapy and my fever going down I finally decided to do a quick race with the Cadillac @ Nordschleife. Crazy I know but the race itself was a lot of fun. Was hanging in the top 5 but sadly started to make little mistakes and got a huge time penalty in one of the corners. Clawed my way back to the front pack but messed up the last 2 corners and almost binned it going neck and neck with some guy through one corner. I let him pass and he took 5th. I've been hesitant on doing regular races because I'm still uncomfortable racing neck and neck with other people. Now that I have the correct FOV I lost my side vision and I've been trying to adjust. Those triples will really help me out in that regard. The other is that I don't want to lose my iRating and go below 3k.

Yesterday and today I decided to practice around for the IMSA race as Silverstone is a great track. Took the Audi and used the Sebring set as a base. Was doing 47-48's which was OK but not good for me. I decided to just instead watch the race and race in split 1 as a ghost. That went well except Santerini from Vendaval is a quick guy! I eventually slipped from 3rd-4th to 11th pace wise. Dejected I went to go get some food and relax my brain for a little bit. After that I came on an hour before the 8:45pm race and just decided to really go into the setup and see what I could change and improve. To my surprise the Sebring setup I was using had a big mis-match in the damper settings. I corrected this then started tuning the dampers by feel. Second or Third lap I did a high 45. Then those times started to come down fast! Before I knew it I had done a 01:45.111.

Race came around and feeling very good I did a 01:44.949 to qualify in first. The race was a snooze fest as I was the fastest guy by over a second. I even beat a guy who tried to qualify in the Corvette DP lol. As for the race I did low to mid 45's lap after lap. Consistency was something I was lacking big time before I left on deployment. It was mainly due to using a too high FOV. I won the race by 20+ seconds. I did check my average lap times against the other splits from today and surprisingly I would have finished in the top 3 in most of them. I actually was averaging a faster lap per lap than Santerini. Would have been fun to chase him around. Next time for sure. Apologies for making this too long. I just wanted to do a little iRacing report for you guys.

Nice report @falcon2081, I've not been running Silverstone because of the old layout, hopefully the update will come soon.

Once the car liveries are sorted I think I will be entering the IMSA alongside the BSS.

Just updated iRacing and noticed they were updating the GT3 cars, have been practicing for the Blancpain in the Audi and i've now got terrible turn in oversteer where yesterday the car felt great.

Yup it wasn't just aerodynamic changes that happened. So the setups are useless. You need to soften everything up by a lot and also much less rake on the cars. That's what was told me but I have not had time to continue testing the setup. Frankly I don't even feel like doing anything and may just wait until VRS drops a updated setup. I really hate when iRacing does this shit where the impact of the changes they mention on the car are a lot more severe than what they lead on about. I loved how it was before the patch. Now like you say the car just oversteers everywhere. In the Audi now touch a little of the kerb then watch yourself oversteer next corner lol.
