I kinda expected that. Although I do not know yet how good the drivers optimization are. And if the games maybe need to adjust a bit to get more performance out of the new AMD generation. But thanks for all the information in the last couple days :)

Yeh know what your saying Manu, if I was in a position myself right now to do the upgrade, me personally I would still edge towards Intel especially on the gaming front, and seeings their pricing is dropping, I would be pretty convinced that some adjustments would have to be made to some games.

We'll know more tomorrow when the review embargo is over. I will definitely go the AMD route for the CPU but haven't decided if I get the R7 1700 with or without the "X", as it isn't really clear what the advantages of the X are.

Since the rift isn't made for me (get sick from it), I'd rather get myself a new monitor, as my current one is pretty old and has some issues.

So I would need some recommendation. Budget: I would want to spend 300 €, absolute limit is 400 €.
Should I rather go for WQHD or 120 / 144 hz - since both at once isn't to be had with my budget.

What do you guys think of this one:
Asus PB277Q - from what I've read, it is capable of 75hz at least instead of 60hz.

Alternatively maybe this one? AOC ProDisplay Q2577PWQ - it's "only" 25" though.

Usage is mainly gaming (Simracing, RPG's, some FPS).

Any advice is welcome.

Save some more money xD

Your system screams WQHD or even UWQHD (but these are even more expensive). 27'' is a pretty sweet monitor size, but only looks good combined with 1440p.

Personally I think high refresh rates really make a difference, especially for racing and FPS.

High refresh rate 34'' screens start at 850€ so I guess they are out of reach, but 144 Hz WQHD 27'' are starting from 470€, with G-sync from 560€.

Personally I'd rather safe a few more bucks and go for the all round package, since a monitor isn't something you buy very often, but I understand that's not always possible. Deciding between image/resolution and Hz I'd probably go for image quality.

I agree to your suggestion, but I just won't be able to justify spending 500+ € on a single monitor. And that's why I was already looking for displays which are capable of going beyond 60 Fps, even if it's only 75. Still better than 60 and for me also better than getting a 144hz wqhd screen. At least money wise.

Those are the screens I could find in your price bracket that are 27'' WQHD 75Hz

I suggest Prad.de and tftcentral.co.uk for reviews. Probably better than an educated guess from one of us here :p really depends if you want IPS or TN panel for example :)

Well, it is either 144hz OR WQHD. Because WQHD 144hz is too expensive.

444 euro, top 27'' monitor with 144hz, 1ms reaction and free-sync

www.amazon.de/Acer-XG270HUomidpx-Displayport-Reaktionszeit-Lautsprecher/dp/B00U2FDO4C/ref=sr_1_1?tag=144hmoni0a-21&ie=UTF8&qid=1436072308&sr=8-1&keywords=Acer+XG270HU

I found that after 5seconds of using google... 144hz monitors are not that expensive anymore!

Nice one. But still over my budget. Currently at least. For now, 400 € is my indisputable limit, though I'd prefer something in the 250 - 350 € range.

@weejimmy You should have received an email with the teamspeak instructions. If that's not the case the server address is the same as the website. Hope this helps.
