It is annoying. This is the second race I can't drive. :dead:
I had promised my parents to help them organise their 25 wedding anniversary. Thought that would be done a few days ago. But because of my illnes last week there is a lot of work not done.

I wish again everyone of you good luck and a lot of fun. I give my best to be there for the last two races.;)

Unfortunately, I have to not only withdraw from tonights race but from the league as a whole. It's work related, and I got a special "gig" which, if I don't screw it up, puts me in a real good position for future job negotiations and for my career as a whole.

I'll be traveling the whole week and only have some free time on the weekends for the next couple of weeks, and this just takes priority, bummer really would've liked to finish this one but thats' life!

Hope you guys have fun for the rest of the league! ;)
I'll be back for sure! :cool:

Tldr:
Work takes priority over my hobby; one of the reserve drivers can have my main spot!

Slick strategy guys. Well done!
It's very easy to lose time on the slicks, it's not a foregone conclusion that anyone could do that.

We have many drop outs today, every reserve driver has a safe spot for tonight!

Damn. I've checked at 18h30pm and because I wasn't in the reserve list at that time, I assumed that wouldn't be for tonight.:banghead:

It's very easy to lose time on the slicks, it's not a foregone conclusion that anyone could do that.
Quite a joke really that the slicks worked in the thunderstorm... it was hilarious to see the guys on slick brake nearly as late as on the wets or going full eurobeat sideways missing the apex but still more traction... correct me if I'm wrong but that's not how I imagined wet driving to work ^^'

Yeah, obviously not realistic, but you play the hand you are dealt.

I hope we don't exclude rain from all future seasons. I'd be more than happy to do a wet test before a season starts to ensure this wouldn't be an issue in future seasons.

And I also loved the random weather. That was very cool.

Yes I love wet driving as well and would like moar! It s just that now I know wet tyres don't work on fwd cars ^^

We discussed this birefly after the race. We either go without any rain races in the future, or wet tires are mandatory for rain conditiions. This was really ridiculous.

Well, that's not necessarily wrong. Assuming the temperature of the tires can be kept optimal, slicks usually have more grip, until they are unable to evacuate the water. This is usually a problem at higher speeds, which the Clio is probably not reaching, until the track is totally drown.

So in actual races, one goes to wet when:
-There is too much water on track the tires can handle.
-The slicks can't keep the temperature up.

If the track temperatures were high, then it might be correct in PCars that the slicks were still quicker or equivalent.

We have seen that slicks can work in light rain, and rightfully so, but last night we had a proper soaked track in the thunderstorm. It makes absolutely no sense that dry tires worked in these conditions.

Looks like this is only the case in FWD though. Try RWD even in light rain with slicks, I wish you fun :joyful:

Another pole position!

The first race was tough, I had the pace over @Fe1ixS but the slipstream meant I had to defend at points throughout the first 15 minutes but the battle was very fair and clean. As I was struggling with slowing the car down for T1 - @Puffpirat joined the battle and ended up jumping both of us. Finishing 2nd place only 0.1 behind @Puffpirat

The second race I hoped for rain and picked a setup that would compromise me if the race stayed completely dry but luckily the heavens opened and after that point it was just a case of keeping the front tyres as hot as possible and not crashing! Happy to have managed to keep it all together to take the flag. Apologies to @Nada and @FuBii for killing your battle at the end, I didn't look at how long was left and if I realised it was the last lap I would have let you guys fight it out for another lap.

In response to the slicks debate - I never thought the slicks would go as long as they did in the wet. My front tyres were still very warm when Puffy pitted in front of me so I thought I would stay out until either the aquaplaning was causing problems or the front tyres had no temperature. With about 8-10 mins to go I think the wet tyres were probably the quicker tyre to be on but it wasn't enough to close the 40+ second gap from the pitstops. I did gamble on the chance it would rain and had a setup much more apt to deal with the slippery conditions - amazing how much fun drifting my way through the lap (what was kind of necessary to keep the tyre temps up).
