Don't do it @Dutchtastic, changing your rig so close to Daytona, assembling the 80/20 will suck into your practice time ;)

Stay strong, resist the urge and help me do the same ;)

Ahh well I fell off the wagon, that's all I can say, @Dutchtastic your fired as my sponsor ;)

These are just engineering porn I'm sorry but they are a beautiful work of art in my book.

Out of the box they feel great, I've left them in the default configuration so far. There are 4 spring strengths and the throttle has the 2nd medium firmness (blue) and the clutch has the 3rd hard firmness (red).

I've left the travel stop on the throttle and preload on the break as is to start.

I've just done a quick adjustment with the pedal head positions to have a bit more space between the throttle and break. There is more lateral adjustment in the adjustment bars, and I think I'll dial a bit more in later.

I've left the protective cover on the pedal rest for the moment as I might see if I can get some grip material similar to that on the break, although to be fair with the karting boots the feet don't slip.

Took them out for a spin at Daytona and the feeling is just amazing, I always rated the CSPv3 as a great pedal, but these really are on a different planet.

what is the main frame material you are using @Bassetts ? It looks like it is designed as a rail to fit in other sections. It looks quite modular. If I was searching for it, what would I be looking for? (asking for a friend)

@UnstopaPaul
A few guys are running the 80/20 (refered to it that way), it's used in a lot of builds and very modular.
I recently bought myself all the materials needed for a stage 1 build, based on Ramiboo's design.
http://www.motedis.com/shop/index.php?language=en that's the website where I ordered my materials from.

Time for me to show off my rig. I used some very rough but extremely cheap and effective DIY stabilizing tools.

IMG_20180113_175707.jpg

My construction, 24"screen as close as possible. Placed on top some never to be used again medical books.
IMG_20180113_175723.jpg

Using a Fanatac Elite Wheel base with the P1 rim and the Elite pedal set. I am saving up for the LC brake pedal and the Fanatac formula Rim.

My roommate build this wooden construction for me so my pedals wouldn't move away on the slippy floor. The position of the wooden bar can be changed to get a better position for the pedals. Very effective, stable and flexible!

Last but not least, I have fitted an adjustable strap connecting my seat and the desk. The problem with the chair that it obviously moves around when I brake hard, this counteracts it very effectively.

I need to take the rig down quite often for other games or just normal desk work. Building this up takes only 1-2 minutes and it is very easy to store!

@Bassetts do you think HPP foot pads would fit the V3's? from what I've seen on the vids it looks like they would as long as you use the correct screws.

I think they are standard spacing patterns as i have seen people put aftermarket foot plates on the HPP's they pedals are milled from a single piece of aluminium and are great in my view. I'll give them a measure when i'm home and confirm.

Cheers bud..I did price them up last night on their shipping calculator, which I have the feeling had a fit, as it came back with a estimate of $195..:muted:

Have to say the pedals looks epic, real nice bit of kit.

$195 is just standard cost of shipping to the UK via DHL, that was exactly the same cost of shipping the pedals for me, oh also don't forget import Duty, I just got a duty/import invoice today from DHL at £200, which i was expecting when i ordered them. but when I picked them up they said there was no duty to pay, but it's arrived via e-mail a few days later so better pay it :(

Yeh that can't be correct surley, how can you have to pay 3 times the amount for shipping over the overall cost of the item, never had that before when ordering from the US, I know about the import cost (good old UK customs) but still there's has to be something wrong there.

Sorry perhaps I articulated that poorly, I meant to say I think it's a default value applied to any order on the site I think it's automated as the price changes daily.

If your serious probably best just to ask directly about the shipping cost for a small item mark might be able to arrange an alternate shipping method.
