Thanks for you reply. Whilst I understand what you say surely it is easier for us inductees to show "car control, safety and ability to cleanly race closesly with others", if we know the track we are driving on, and are not having to do it "blind"?

The capability to adapt to new tracks, new cars and new racing situations altogether is part of the skills we want to see. :D

We generally go for the shorter national layouts of well known circuits. You can expect one of these at some point: Silverstone National, Donnington Park National, Brands Hatch Indy, Oulton Park Fosters/Island, Hockenheim National, Oschersleben National, Nurburgring Sprint, Monza Junior, Catalunya National, Laguna Seca, Watkins Glen Short, Dubai Club.

Hi,

I'm SteveO, not quite 50, not been sim racing for long, got an xbox1 at end of 2016 with project cars, then got PC2 as a Birthday prezzie as soon as it was released. It's been hard work on the xbox so bit the bullet and bought a PC last month. Also picked up rFactor2 so quite like to do some racing in that too.

I have raced IRL on most UK tracks in sprint races and 3 - 8hr endurance races(where I usually did the Le Mans style starts)

Like everybody I have lots of stories, most of mine involve motorbikes, lots of them involve broken bones, some of them involve trophies, one of them involves all 3.

See you on track, I'll be at the back....

Hello, Mark 42 years old from north-west UK, Racing since I was able to buy my computer (hate consoles). Not the fastest or the slowest guy in the pack, I race for fun and a good time, can't wait to jump on the track with you guys.

Hi all, My name is Marc, 20 years old and come from The Netherlands. I'm also coming from NoDo, like iceman, ovivo, kaleeb, benimi and firefly, I'm new to simracing and got a wheel since a week or so now. I'm learning to race with a wheel so I'd like to race with you guys too in the weekday races and later in some events. I've only played gta 5 with serious racing sofar, but hopefully PC2 will be added now too!

*Edit: My skill level is so low that I can not do a proper lap without green lines on the track :) But yeah, one week in sim racing so its normal...

Hey guys mrtfalkands here. I'm 45 year old and live in the UK.

I love racing and have played on most games since the 90s. The first F1 games on the PlayStation through to PCars2. This is really all of my current gaming just online PCars2 trying to find an online race where people don't crash all the time or flight sims. I'm lucky enough to not have any kids in the house, my own games room with T500RS with the Ferrari wheel and pedals. All I want to do is be able to test myself against some good drivers. I think i'm at a good level but sometimes struggle with setup.

Hope to get in a practice session or some kind of qualifying session to see what Im worth and maybe race for an online team.

see you all soon i hope!!

Paul

I'm a 43 year old kiwi from downunder (and no NZ doesn't have kangaroos- no, kiwis cant fly but the one in my avatar can) i've always been keen in motorsport, going to the speedway as a kid, the noise of screaming engines and the rich smell of racing fuel ah...(memory lane)..sorry i drifted there...so yeah I have been playing games most of my life including racing ones although arcade (fond memories of old games like Indy 500 and Days of Thunder)..

Recently my interest in sim racing has picked up again and besides a few arcade racers ive played in the past like Forza, GT. So with more realistic racing games out there, the idea of simulation racing appealed to me. So I brought rFactor2, it was barely playable with a controller. And then PC2 came out. I never owned PC1. But i was impressed with PC2 demo even using a controller. So i dived in and got a wheel (G29 Logitech to be precise) and also jump into iRacing. iRacing is a good sim, but its a little too pricey, it wouldn't be so bad if the sub included everything but having buy tracks can make it expensive overtime. Ive been a member there for a couple of months and have done a few races online. PC2 has a lot going for it on top of having decent physics and all the cars and tracks unlocked from the get go (besides some minor DLC). So yeah im happy with the physics in the game, and recent patches have made the game even better. Each sim has its own strengths and weaknesses.

Ive been wanting to find a group of drivers who want to race cleanly and are friendly with regular races and perhaps community series/championships so i have found my way here. I wouldn't say im a slow driver but i'm not super fast, perhaps middle of the pack (or back of the pack depending who you are up against lol)

If your old like me you might of fallen asleep reading this ramble of an introduction, didn't mean to ramble.

Welcome @Daza! People from our neck of the woods (I'm an Aussie :p) are a rare breed here so it's good to see another one signing up! Hope you enjoy your time racing with us.

Hi,
I'm slow and clean!
Been "Sim Racing" since as far as Gran Turismo for PSX. I've played several racers before that, but never even thought of anything on a PC or console to be a "Sim". I like to get in a few hours of driving a day 3 or 4 days out of the week and would like to meet people to race with.
Steam ID is Laserbeak43
Nice to meet you!

Welcome, @Ingvaar to RSR, your english is certainly better than my russian so don't worry too much about it.

We are mainly a Project cars 2 community with branches in Iracing, Rfactor. We also have members racing in dirt rally as well as many other games.

We at RSR are not looking for the fastest drivers, we only ask you accept and follow our rules and most importantly enjoy your time with us. It doesn't matter to us if your slow or fast with your driving, we are more than happy to help you out with things such as setups, race craft, or general issues. all you need to do is ask.

To take part in our events you must first complete our induction session.

We look forward to seeing you on track!

Hi,

I used to play Iracing years ago, but stopped because of a lack of time. A friend let my try Project Cars 2 a few weeks ago... and I jumped back in my virtual seat ^^ I love the driving in Project Cars 2, seems to have a little bit more grip than Iracing according to what I remember, is very immersive, with better control and feedback (and shiny graphics ^^). I just hope I found a nice league to enjoy online with clean and fair racing as I did with Iracing.

I would like to take part in the a season after some races with you guys to get some skill back !!

I'm 39 years old and live in France. I understand English enough to listen vocal during races, but I don't speak much, words don't come easily. No problem to read english.

I enjoy small low powered cars for road racing, and stock cars for oval, as I had nice races in Iracing in the past with them, with door to door racing, and nice packs of cars with the same pace ^^ I'm not fast, I like to drive clean "as if" I was driving for real (my dream is a simulator witch takes damages cost in count for a solo-career or online-league with limited budget, but it's maby not fun enough... I remember an online game I played many, many years ago that had this system, but I forgot the name, the game dident last long).

See you !

Greetings!

Albert, 32 from Norway here.
I found this community through a random reddit post suggesting this site. I have mostly raced single-player and this seems like a great way to start MP-racing with like-minded people who want a clean race and a good time.

I started with PC1 some years ago and pre-ordered PC2 when it was announced, so I'm kinda new, I guess. I got my Oculus a few weeks ago and have fallen in love with PC gaming all over again. Even if the lady in the household think I look ridiculous :p

Other than that, got a son which hopefully don't decide to do an all-nighter at race-nights. Oh, and a cat.

I'm not the fastest racer but I'm eager to learn. I'm really looking forward to meeting some of you on the induction race tomorrow night (13th)

Drive safe :)
