Good thing I didn't already renew my account, the next enduro is Watkins Glen on the 5/6th of August. I'll renew for a month this weekend, so I'll be able to do the next 2 with my account. ~£5 per race isn't too bad :)

I am now probably only 3 good races away from my D licence, assuming I am going to take the plunge and get some content what should I look for to get the most usage from. Will be using for C/B class and obviously want Spa and at least one car that will be run on it. Happy to go with 6 pieces to get the best discount so what should I go for?

This is really good for figuring out what you can run and what looks good to buy, you fill in the content you have and it shows you a week by week plan of what series you can run.

https://iracing-week-planner.tmo.lol/

What you purchase really all depends on really what cars you think you might want to run in the future.

Ferrari GTE, Audi or Mercedes GT3, spa and tracks.
The focus should always be tracks and get used to 1-2 cars to become more consistant and get a feel for the sim.

Saw 70 people register for the IMSA race at 16:45, thought I ended up in split 2 but behold! I joined in as #24 in a 25 GTE car field with an "average"SOF of 3.8K (Yes, I dragged it down). Massive thanks to @ramiboo for those setups, used yours and I don't think I would have made it without it.

After 20 laps it's actually better to downshift into 1st at the double righthander before the backstraight. Realised that at lap 30 :D
I'm soaked! I recorded it, so video might follow.

Skippies are very popular but that's not always a positive thing. Out of my experience the crash rate is quite high because of the popularity and obviously because its an open wheeler :p

Caddies is a good road series. Its not as popular but its a good training car as the car likes to understeer a lot so you have to be smooth. Will prepare you a bit better for the GT3's. Ruf/Skippies isn't a bad series either. Those are more popular but depending on where you race you will see some bone headed moves/crashes by people. For those 2 series I would recommend racing them in the not popular hours.

yea im pretty between caddies and skippies, caddies seem like the step down from gt3 and gte whilst skippies seem like a hell-fest but still open wheelers + draft sounds good to me. or yeah i could stick a few with Pam.

*should have taken 11 races, pam tried to do 2 rookie races this evening and lost quite a lot of safety rating that pam will be recovering in the morning.

Being serious though, this is the best option, just do 4 of the grand tour solstice races to get your MPR and then do them or the mazda to get to class C on SR, when you are at C there are a lot more options.

I now have a C licence :) Got it with my most fun race so far in rookies, drove car 12 to a podium and had a race long battle for P2 and 3 between 3 cars, finished with 0 incident points as well :)

IMSA testing Nurburgring GP (BES/WEC)
Default iRacing weather and baseline setups.
2 runs each of 4 laps
- Ferrari: 1.54.9
- Ford: 1.54.4

Ford is much kinder on the brakes but I struggled in T2 with the rear (gets light)
Ferrari loses the time in S2-3-4 to the Ford (how I drove it)

I think I'm gonna start doing caddies and the old rookie races, was having a lot of fun just practicing with the caddies bc they're just so much quicker.

Small Resume of my debut with the GT3's at Lime Rock Park, nervous as :coldfeet:......

First race: Starting at the back, but then,,,,,I got disconnected right at the grid :shifty:.

Second race: Starting midfield, I was able to come back from 15th to 6th remaining 10 minutes :stig:(could done better but I forget to lower the refuel amount and lost 2 extra positions, noob mistake:bucktooth:) but with 7 minutes to go, I slightly touched the grass and that was enough to send me to the barrier and get me a 5mns repairs .

Third race:
Starting in the midfield, I was more aware but my race pace wasn't good enough, tried to go faster but It just wasn't the right call, few off tracks here and there, plus avoided few road blocks that allowed the leaders to lap me twice, at the end just one placed gained.

All in all, It wasn't really that bad dealing with people, they were pretty much clean races, plus running with the default set up, some how makes me feel better .

BTW @2scoops thanks for the Audi set up, but for some reason I felt more cozy and safe with the McLaren :D

Woke up at 03:00 this morning, and couldn't get back to sleep.

I'm dangerous when I'm tired.
