Does anybody remember what sort of laptimes they were doing in the race last year? Just trying to gauge how far off the pace I am right now. Fired up a quick MP session, with all the settings the same as will be run, and put in a 1m49.1 lap on the first flying lap (92.5L of fuel onboard at the start of the lap). Setup is completely standard, other than the maxxing out of fuel.

EDIT : That's for the Ginetta, by the way :)

Good question, just looked at our old result sheets but sadly the results for exactly this event are missing :O

Oh, drat. Just wanted to see where that sort of pace is going to put me - if it puts me in no-mans land (ie, behind the front-runners, but in front of the chasing group of Aston's) then I'll just run in the Aston and actually have a race. Don't really fancy 50 laps of "no chance of catching the guys in front, no fear of the guys behind catching me". I could just do some more practice of course, that time was after 10 minutes of 'quali' and then the first flying lap of the 'race' :D

I am not even sure if I will be at home at sunday (we have all saints day celebration, and maybe I would have to go to my hometown.... not sure yet) , but i'll try to drive the race.

I'll be in the Aston field then. 1:50.5 in TT and 1:51.3's in race trim. A second and a half slower in the cold morning hours though.

a question: sometimes i invite (at home, in real life) a couple of friend and we do endurance races against AI with driver swap.

can i join this event with them? is it a problem? they are good drivers, but they could do some errors, assuming they don't have a large amount of hour of gaming like us. this is don't mean they are divebomb, just a little inexperienced. and I obviously will supervise preaching clean racing. :)

i'm asking here before inviting them. :)

ps: of course they'll do some hours of testing before the race.

Have to speak with the other admins first, so I can't say yes or no.

BUT... tonight is Induction Night, if your friends got time, just let them sign up quickly here in our forum and jump with them at 18:30 UTC+0 into our TeamSpeak :)

Edit: ** Forget about the second part I posted, I misread your question^^ **

:D

decide freely without any hesitation. a "no" will not make me angry or sad.

I asked because I know that they would like to live this experience to race against real drivers and this race and this community seems to me a good opportunity. could also happen they can't came my home. i asked here before to give them hopes.

to have a reference, generally they win AI between 85 and 100 depending of the circuits.

aniway sorry for the trouble. the truth is also i'm trying to bring them in the dark side of sim racing. :D

Well every admin is equal which means I can't just say yes/no without talking with them :) I can imagine that this would be the trigger for them to get into simracing :D

I think what @t0daY is saying is if you want to swap drivers in an endurance event that is up to you but they have to be registerd members of RSR and have gained orange badge...correct me if im wrong..

I thought your friends want to join us for the race. After I re-read it I realized you asked about the driver swap with your mates rather that they are racing with us as individuals. We will talk further about this via pm. We should not flood this thread with your proposal :p :)

I don't really have time to test, and I can't remember from last year, but can someone say if soft tyres can hold untill half of the race? Ty

I think they should do, I recall most people 1 stopping last time without issue, although I think last race was shortened because of server issues so it might be a bit harder this time around.

I watched a lot of miagi's video in the Aston and the race was still 50 laps. He stopped for new tyres at more than half-distance, so you should be looking at a 1-stop strategy. Personally, given how long it takes to refuel, I'll be running a full tank at the start and putting in only as much fuel as I need to at the stop. The Ginetta, in default trim at least, seems to use almost bang on 2.5L per lap from the few laps I did the other evening.

No reason at all I wanted to share that, definitely not ;)

I did about 20 mins in an online MP to play with the setup a little on low fuel, and got a couple of mid to low 48s, threw full fuel in it, did one flying lap and got a 1:48.7XX. Then I jumped into TT and did about 10-12 laps, all 3 fastest sectors would put me on a 1:46.8 and I would imagine a race pace of low 1:48 is plausible in the day time, probably a tad slower in the dark.
