Race 2 with its upside down actions. Now that it is passed I hope we can laugh at that memorable 'big one'
It is also disrespectful to other drivers to sit there talking throughout the race so a quick shush keeps things in order and from what I heard most people respected that opinion. Seems like some people just want to socialise at races now then? Also, forgot to add,
The race ended for me with a strange feeling. I felt very disconnected with the race compared to previous races. What made racing with RSR fun for me was the kindness and forgivingness of the people that I was driving with. Small tap here, missing braking point there would always end up in a quick "sorry!" None of that today really. It was too quiet, as if you were driving against an AI. No feeling of driving with "the family".
Sure I am against the occasional chatter about whose fault was what action etc. And sure every now and then there was too much taking going on in other races.
And then the biggest annoyance for me was "shush!!!!!".
You don't shush people, it is rude! And very unpleasant and aggressive. I don't know who it was and I don't care either but it gave me a bitter taste the first race. I did not sign up with RSR to be shushed. (I wasnt shushed cause I had no mic the first race).
Just my two extra cents

Have to agree with this, the chat has never bothered me. And the shush moment was really rude and unnecessary IMO.
If people really don't like it is it not possible to setup a button to mute Teamspeak? Once the race has started there isn't really any strict need to have the Teamspeak turned on.
I think that what we can take from this is that, having minimal chatter was a lot nicer and made it easier to concentrate. But people did not like the push to talk solution so I feel that people will have to put in more effort to reduce the amount of talking during a race. Many thanks for all the feedback regarding to the push to talk thingy. Many members are actually not a big fan of it which is totally fine and also expected.
By the looks of it we are leaving it as a single test and go back to no restrictions in the next race. It was important to us to test it, with a big grid, and get some feedback from you guys.
Once again thanks for the feedback guys
Personally I liked the 'push to talk'. It specifically reduced the background noise, such as 'Wooaaa' or others things like that. However I've noticed that those who tend to speak (too) much aren't refrained by the 'push' thing, so my impression in the long term it's only going to reduce the 'accidental' chatter, not the 'unnecessary' one. But that's already something I appreciate.I think that what we can take from this is that, having minimal chatter was a lot nicer and made it easier to concentrate. I strongly disagree - and a lot of comments above are disagreeing aswellI think that what we can take from this is that, having minimal chatter was a lot nicer and made it easier to concentrate. Interesting topic going on here, like all the thoughts given but as a Push to Talk user per say, I am in favour of PTT as there are a few people who are using Voice activation which is really annoying to me that is. To hear someone's gear lever clunking away or their steering wheel whirring does distract me a lot. This is the only issue I have with Voice activation. People talking while racing has no effect on me except when spoken to at the wrong time and I respond and hit the wall. My bad either way but I agree with people chatting away about things non race related is not on, the race related chat is really helpful and does help when there is an incident of some sort. Regarding quali the talk should be limited to the minimum and it keeps it fair to all. Chat in rolling starts should be for admins only IMHO as well as standing starts.
All we can ask to those who do have a noisy background, or use a desktop microphone which picks up "all the action", is if they wouldn't mind to use PTT. I think that'll reduce a lot of background noise.
When I know that I am going to have background noise (read: my girlfriend coming in the room to talk to me, note it won't pick up her voice, only mine (INB4 girlfriend == background noise )) I'll just move my mic upwards and it mutes itself.
When I have to sneeze I am 99% of the time quick enough to move my mic upwards, same for coughing.
The "picking up the noise of all the action" that some users have is the only annoyance factor that I have, but then again a quick reminder to said person "your mic is picking up your APM's" is fine enough for me and mostly fixes the "problem". Asking said users to use PTT instead would be a nice option, but if they can't then I guess we'll just have to accept that and every now and then give them a small reminder.
Hahaha @extremekarter27 were are your right wheels lol 1.55 on vid lolRace 2 with its upside down actions. Now that it is passed I hope we can laugh at that memorable 'big one'
Please report dangerous rejoins (especially if they cause collisions or similiar) or talk to the person and remind him/her of itThe shuush was aimed at me as i was the one who said watch your track rejoin. As im sure everyone understands what to do when they have an off track moment. Yet people choose to ignore the rules and drive straight back on without any care in the world.
...
As soon as i can get the replay of race one that is my intention mate. Unfortunately my pc decided to go to sleep at the end of race one and i was unable to get replay lol..Please report dangerous rejoins (especially if they cause collisions or similiar) or talk to the person and remind him/her of it
